PhD position summary/title: PhD Fellowship in hydrogen production and purication technology
The PhD Fellow will be affiliated with the Environment-friendly Energy Research center – Hyvalue. This center will develop knowledge, methodology, and innovative solutions for hydrogen energy carriers.
Hydrogen is emerging as a key player in the transition to a low-carbon economy. However, the current production and purification of hydrogen (both renewable and non-renewable) pose significant technological and environmental challenges that need to be addressed in order to unlock its full potential.
This Ph.D. project will focus on developing and testing new materials technologies for hydrogen production and purification that are efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. The project will leverage cutting-edge research in areas such as catalysis, Photocatalysis, materials science, and gas processing (PSA, TSA, and membrane) to develop novel solutions that address the key challenges in hydrogen production and purification.

PhD position summary/title: PhD Fellowship in Environmental Humanities
The PhD Fellow will be affiliated with the project Good Fire: An Environmental History of Prescribed Burning in Norway and the North, which is led by Mica Jorgenson. Good Fire is an environmental history of wildfire management. As wildfires become larger and more intense in the Boreal zone, Norway and other countries have begun experimenting with prescribed fire. Land stewards in rural and mountain regions have a long history of intentionally burning land for agricultural, aesthetic, forestry, and safety purposes. Good Fire examines the history of prescribed burning in Norway and the B’soreal north, including Scandinavia and northern Canada. The project traces the roots of modern wildfires and their relation to land management practices in the north.
