(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  PostDoc research position in the project Implementing a FAIR data and workflow infrastructure

The Cluster of Excellence livMatS develops completely novel, life-like materials systems that adapt autonomously to various environments and harvest clean energy from their surroundings. The intention of these purely technical – yet in a behavioral sense quasi-living – materials systems is to meet the demands of humans with regard to pioneering environmental and energy technologies. The societal relevance of autonomous systems and their sustainability will thus play an important role in their development. The research program of livMatS is characterized by highly interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers from a broad range of fields including engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, psychology, the humanities, and sustainability sciences.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Associate (f/m/d)

The project deals with the research cooperation of the member countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA) in the 1970s and 1980s. It aims to provide new insights into CMEA, into the cooperation and competition among socialist countries, and into their actions on the European and global levels. Exemplarily, the project focuses on research cooperation in agriculture and forestry as well as in the field of environmental protection. These areas will be examined from two national perspectives – the GDR and the Polish People’s Republic.

The Research Associate will focus on the participation of Polish actors (government, research institutions, scientists and technical experts) in research related to environmental protection within the framework of the CMEA.

Requirements for employment are a completed, relevant university degree with above-average grades (Master Level), an independent working style and the ability to work in a team, as well as the willingness to write a doctoral thesis on the above-mentioned topic. Very good oral and written language skills in German and/or English are required, as well as very good knowledge of Polish, both written and spoken (level C1 or B2 or the willingness to acquire this level within the first year of employment). Ideally, you also have knowledge of Russian.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow (f/m/d) in Immunology

This position will be filled in the laboratory of Professor Wolfgang Schamel with a researcher who has experience in Molecular Immunology.

If you are fascinated by the biology of T cells and if you are interested in the mechanisms controlling viral infections or in using new tools to steer immune responses, you are the person we are looking for. Examples of our work can be found in the publications below. We expect that you will work independently with great enthusiasm and integrate into our group and the Excellence Cluster CIBSS. In addition, you will be supervising Master students in the biology program. Knowledge of German is not required. Our group is situated in the new Life Science building of the university (Signalhaus) and we have access to the cell sorting, sequencing, proteomics and imaging facilities.

It requires a qualified Ph.D. or doctorate and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Civil service requirements must be fulfilled. The salary will be determined in accordance with E13.
