(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Psychology
An exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on a Dunhill Medical Trust funded project developing and piloting a specialised link worker scheme for middle-aged and older adults with cerebral palsy has arisen. As part of this role you will work closely our project partners UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement (https://upmovement.org.uk/) and spend time based at UCLH and in the North Central London area where we will pilot the link worker scheme.
The role involves interviewing adults with cerebral palsy about ageing and their use of community resources, co-designing training materials for a specialised link worker and collecting and analysing data on the effectiveness of the link worker scheme. You will also work closely with expert advisory groups and stakeholders to ensure an impactful project.
As part of this role we are committed to helping you develop as an independent researcher in ageing. You will have mentorship from an experienced project team. You will have £2000 to spend on training as you wish. Finally, you will have the opportunity to develop your supervisory skills by supervising the project research assistants.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title: Research Fellow in Advanced Vehicle Control Systems
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position that focuses on designing and developing advanced control algorithms to enhance the energy efficiency and safety of the next generation of vehicles with electrified powertrains, with validation via test rigs and vehicle demonstrators. This role also includes modeling and simulating electric vehicles and their components, such as active suspension systems, for control-oriented applications and real-time implementation of the control solutions.
The position is part of the HiPE Horizon Europe project and focuses on developing control solutions aimed at improving vehicle performance by leveraging innovative power electronics technology and predictive health models of the components. The control strategies will target vehicle powertrain control and chassis control, including active suspension, to improve vehicle performance in terms of safety, energy consumption, and comfort.
Thanks to the presence of industrial partners and universities from across Europe within the consortium, the project will have the opportunity to test its proposed solutions using vehicle demonstrators.
Working under the leadership of Dr. Umberto Montanaro, Dr. Davide Tavernini, Dr. Yinglong He, and Prof. Patrick Gruber, you will be responsible for the day-to-day research tasks in accordance with the project plan. This will include: i) Developing and implementing advanced vehicle control algorithms to enhance vehicle performance, safety, energy saving, and comfort; ii) Supporting advanced simulations and modeling to optimize vehicle efficiency, safety, and performance; iii) Collaborating with a team of experts in various fields, including electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science; iv) Participating in project meetings, presenting research findings, and contributing to project reports and publications.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Educational Dialogue
An exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow in Educational Dialogue at the Surrey Institute for Education (contract up to 14 months).
This information sheet should be read in conjunction with the accompanying generic Research RA1A Role Profile and will be used for shortlisting processes. More specifically the post holder will be expected to:
The researcher’s main priority is to work on the ‘Educational Dialogue for improving Foundation Year Student Outcomes’, funded by Nuffield Foundation Grant. The project includes collaborators from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield University, Kent University, Queen Mary University London and Kingston University. The aim of the project is to create resources to support Foundation Year teachers to enhance students’ oral language skills, in particular their educational dialogue, to increase students’ self-efficacy, belongingness, learning outcomes, retention and progression.
The post holder will be responsible for evaluating the project outcomes through pre and post tests (questionnaires), pre and post audio recordings of pair interaction and post project interviews with students and Foundation Year academic staff. The post holder will also contribute to the writing of reports and scholarly publications.
