The Department of Molecular Genetics in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto invites applications for the position of Research Associate (Limited Term) to design and lead research projects in the area of microbiology, functional genomics, chemical genomics, and antimicrobial drug resistance. Specifically, the program will focus on the molecular mechanisms by which metabolic flexibility controls virulence traits in fungal pathogens.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Associate (One-year Term)

We are seeking an experienced Materials Chemist with advanced scientific and technical expertise at both the graduate and post-graduate levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the design, synthesis, modeling, fabrication, multi-technique analysis, and testing of photocatalyst and photoreactor architectures. This role involves optimizing the capture of incident light while minimizing parasitic light losses in the photocatalyst and photoreactor to drive gas-phase heterogeneous conversion of hydrogen carriers into hydrogen and valuable co-products.

 

Key responsibilities include ensuring high energy, carbon, and environmental efficiency, while prioritizing long-term stability and scalability of the photocatalysts and photoreactor systems. The successful candidate will lead the research project, conduct research, collect and analyze data and produce reports/papers.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate (Term) – Muscle stem cell mechanobiology

The Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto invites applications for the position of a Full Time Research Associate (2 Year Term). The incumbent will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Penney M. Gilbert within the interdisciplinary environment of the Donnelly Centre. They will execute a research program that integrates advanced microscopy with biomaterial and molecular tools to define the physical forces presiding over murine muscle stem cells in their native (in vivo) skeletal muscle tissue niche, and the molecular implications of these forces on muscle stem cell fate.

 

Further responsibilities will include ordering project related supplies, preparing and filing animal use protocol updates and/or renewals (as needed), organizing meetings of the research team, collecting and interpreting data and generating data visualizations to prepare reports and peer reviewed publications, writing grant reports and peer reviewed publications.
