(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:   Postdoctoral Researcher: Innovating Sustainability through XR Technology

The Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing (GRS) at Wageningen University is  looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at the forefront of Sustainability and eXtended Realities (XR) research. Our mission is to develop, design, and evaluate novel approaches using immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality contributing to creating, facilitating, or educating society on issues of sustainability. This position is part of a growing team dedicated to advancing the science and art of communicating scientific results efficiently to all stakeholders through the use of technologies such as XR focusing on societally relevant topics of the WUR domain. Examples include but are not limited to deforestation, biodiversity loss, climate change, or food systems.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Soil Science and Agroforestry

The Soil Biology Group at Wageningen University and Research is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join their team and investigate the effects of agroforestry management on soil carbon cycling and its sensitivity to climate warming and drought. Agroforestry has emerged as a potential adaptation strategy of farms against climate change. It is often argued to increase soil carbon, improve nutrient cycling and promote soil biodiversity. However, large disparities between sites and conditions can be observed in the literature, and the mechanisms supporting all the potential benefits of agroforestry remain very poorly understood and rarely thoroughly investigated.
