PhD position summary/title: 4 PhDs: tackling subversive crime in the Port of Rotterdam, FORT-PORT (NWO)
Do you want to contribute to a better understanding of the organization of cocaine trafficking and human smuggling through the Port of Rotterdam? Do you want to improve the governance of cocaine trafficking and human smuggling together with the public and private actors in the Port of Rotterdam? Do you want to develop innovative tools like interactive models, dynamic heat maps, crime scripts, and serious games to enable governance actors to intervene proactively? Do you want to work with an interdisciplinary research consortium consisting of academics from criminology, anthropology, law, history, mathematics, network science, computing and information sciences, and public and private actors with governance responsibilities in the PoR? PhD position summary/title: 4 PhDs: ondermijnende criminaliteit in de Rotterdamse haven, FORT-PORT (NWO)
Wil jij bijdragen aan een beter begrip van cocaïnehandel en mensensmokkel via de Rotterdamse haven? Wil je samen met de publieke en private actoren in de Rotterdamse haven de aanpak van cocaïnehandel en mensensmokkel verbeteren? Wil je tools ontwikkelen zoals interactieve modellen, dynamische heatmaps, crime scripts en serious games om actoren in de haven in staat te stellen proactief in te grijpen? Wil je werken in een interdisciplinair onderzoeksteam van academici uit de criminologie, antropologie, recht, geschiedenis, wiskunde, network science, informatica, en publieke en private actoren die werken aan de aanpak in de Rotterdamse haven? Solliciteer dan op een van de 4 promotieplaatsen (4 jaar) in het onderzoeksproject FORT-PORT (Focusing On the Right Things in the Port of Rotterdam). FORT-PORT wil de criminele bedrijfsprocessen, modi operandi en criminele netwerken blootleggen die aan de basis staan van cocaïnehandel en mensensmokkel via de Rotterdamse haven. FORT-PORT beoogt bij te dragen aan een sterke, toekomstbestendige haven die geroemd wordt om haar veiligheid en weerbaarheid tegen ondermijnende criminaliteit, met aandacht voor de mogelijke economische en maatschappelijke gevolgen van het opwerpen van barrières.

PhD position summary/title: PhD student Bekostiging van Digitale Innovaties
De wereld waarin we leven wordt steeds digitaler en ook in de zorg gebeurt er steeds meer digitaal. Denk hierbij aan de vele remote patient management initiatieven die thans ontstaan. Het blijft echter een uitdaging om digitale innovaties in de zorg te implementeren en op grote schaal te gebruiken. Binnen het promotieproject ‘Continuity of care from hospital to home: A study of the development and implementation of alternative payment models for digital innovations’ bestudeer je huidige en nieuwe manieren om digitale zorg door de zorgverzekeraar te laten bekostigen. Je werkt nauw samen met het Erasmus MC-brede strategische programma ‘Digitaal Verbonden’. Dit programma heeft tot doel om de patiënt digitaal te begeleiden naar de best mogelijke uitkomst. Dit innovatieprogramma loopt tot minimaal 2027 en richt zich op grootschalige digitale transformatie van zorgpaden. Als onderzoeker ben je nauw verbonden bij dit programma en bij de co-design van zorgpaden met digitale innovaties in een of meerdere zorgdomeinen van het Erasmus MC, te weten acute, chronische, complexe, mentale en palliatieve zorg.

PhD position summary/title: PhD – Designing and evaluating personalised lifestyle interventions (1,0 fte)
We are recruiting a PhD candidate to join our multidisciplinary team of experts for a project to improve the design and evaluation of lifestyle interventions by focusing on individuals’ specific needs and preferences in different phases of their life. While individual differences in circumstances and life goals are important for successful take-up and outcomes of lifestyle interventions, they are often not considered when designing and evaluating interventions. We aim to develop a generalized approach to systematically design and evaluate lifestyle interventions in accordance with individual differences and preferences. Such a systematic approach aims to increase the uptake of lifestyle interventions, especially among vulnerable groups, who have been proven hard to reach.
