(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Immunomodulatory effect of lipid transporters in Alzheimer’s disease (AD)
Join our team in investigating inflammation’s role in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progression and uncovering potential therapeutic avenues. Specifically, we’re diving into the impact of ceramide transfer protein (CERT) on inflammation modulation in AD. Our goal is to determine which domains of CERT exert the most potent inflammation-modulating effects. We will reintroduce CERT domains into CERT-deficient microglia both in vitro and in vivo to assess their impact. Through detailed analysis of inflammatory parameters, lipid profiles, and extensive sequencing, we aim to characterize each CERT domain’s modulatory effects. This research promises to shed light on new targets for early-stage AD prevention.
Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher in Health, Well-Being, and Educational Performance
The Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) of Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics is seeking to appoint one postdoctoral researcher on the project: Early predictors of school success: physical, mental and social health and behavior (see also https://www.nationaalcohortonderzoek.nl/eposs). In this project (started in October 2022), we study how different aspects of health, well-being, and (un)healthy behaviour of primary and secondary school pupils are related to their educational performance and educational career. We collect unique new data on physical, mental, and social health and behaviour (e.g., diet, social media use, substance use, physical activity, and bullying), at two crucial education transition moments at selected schools in primary and secondary education. We survey pupils and their parents, combining reliable and validated survey measurements with innovative ways of data collection, which will be linked to data on educational performance from the Nationaal Cohortonderzoek Onderwijs (NCO). The data collection in primary schools has been completed in spring 2024; the data collection in secondary schools will be completed in autumn 2024. The postdoctoral researcher will focus on analysing the data, and on the dissemination of the findings to various audiences.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc bij de Vakgroep Gezondheidsbevordering
De belangrijkste onderzoeksvraag waar de postdoc zich op gaat richten is hoe aanbieders van interventies, professionals en vrijwilligers succesvol met elkaar kunnen samenwerken om zo problematisch alcoholgebruik bij ouderen te reduceren. De regio Zuid-Limburg fungeert als proeftuin in dit project, waarbij onder meer een centrale rol zal worden vervuld door de preventie-afdeling van verslavingszorginstelling Mondriaan. In deze proeftuin wordt gestreefd naar een geïntegreerde aanpak van interventies die de gehele keten van preventie tot zorg beslaan. Hierbij dient er ook input te worden gegeven aan het opzetten van trainingsprogramma’s voor de implementatie van deze interventies en de geïntegreerde aanpak.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc/senior onderzoeker binnen de Academische Werkplaats Duurzame Zorg van het Maastricht UMC+/UM
De zorg heeft te kampen met door toenemende zorgkosten, een stijging van het aantal chronisch zieken, een groeiend aanbod van diagnostische en therapeutische medisch- technologische voorzieningen en een nijpend tekort aan arbeidskrachten. Dit zal de komende decennia zowel de kwaliteit als de toegankelijkheid van de gezondheidszorg onder druk zetten. Het in 2022 verschenen Integraal Zorgakkoord (IZA) stelt dat als we nietsdoen de zorg dreigt vast te lopen. Om de zorg toekomstbestendig en betaalbaar te maken is passende zorg nodig. Dit kan mede gerealiseerd worden door de kracht van digitale technologie en datagedreven zorg te gebruiken en aan te laten sluiten bij de expertise van zorgprofessionals. Er zal om die reden steeds meer worden gekeken naar hybride vormen van zorg: een mix van digitaal (zoals e-health, robotica, smart home services) of datagedreven zorg (zoals door middel van kunstmatige intelligentie en automatisering) en fysiek aangeboden zorg. Uitgangspunten hierbij zijn: zelf als het kan, thuis als het kan en digitaal als het kan. Het Maastricht UMC+ zet via een digitale en data-gedreven strategie ‘Digitale Zorg 2025’ sterk in op transformatie naar hybride zorg met als doel om de zorg in de regio in de toekomst te bestendigen.
Voor diverse projecten binnen het zwaartepunt Health Innovation and Digitalisation van de Academische Werkplaats Duurzame Zorg van Maastricht University zijn wij op zoek naar een postdoc/senior onderzoeker. Voorbeeld van projecten waaraan wij werken zijn; Meten van brede benadering van gezondheid (klik hier voor meer informatie), CARRIER (klik hier voor meer informatie ) en DACIL (klik hier voor meer informatie). Het onderzoek is praktijkgericht waarbij we diverse methodes hanteren voor dataverzameling en -analyse. Binnen de projecten wordt nauw samengewerkt met het MUMC+ Zorg Innovatie Lab en diverse klinische afdelingen, data scientists en andere onderzoeksafdelingen binnen de universiteit en Nederland. Ook coördineert onze groep de bachelor richting Digitale Technologie en Zorg binnen de bachelor Gezondheidswetenschappen en de master Health and Digital Transformation.
