(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Microbiology & Immunology

The Molecular and Cellular Virology Laboratory (virologylab.ca, Principal Investigator Dr. Denys Khaperskyy, Assistant Professor) at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead a research project on viral mechanisms of host shutoff. The project’s focus will fall within the theme of 5-year CIHR Project grant titled “Molecular mechanisms of host shutoff by respiratory viruses and their contribution to viral pathogenesis”. The qualified candidate will hold a PhD degree in microbiology, immunology, or a closely related field and have at least 2 years of research experience in virology, immunology, cell biology, or a similar field of biomedical sciences if PhD degree was obtained prior to 2020. Experience working with mammalian cell culture and mastery of basic molecular biology techniques is required. Prior research involving viruses and/or innate immune responses to viral infection in cell culture models or animal infection models would be an asset.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Agricultural Mechanized Systems

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will develop and evaluate mechanized/precision agriculture systems (hardware and software), under the supervision of Dr. Travis Esau P.Eng, to improve crop yield and technology transfer activities. They will participate in a combination of field and laboratory research and will be required to complete extensive travel throughout the Atlantic region. Periodic exposure to allergy constituents including dust, insects (e.g. honeybees) are a component of this position.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Dalhousie University in the broad research areas of mathematical analysis and partial differential equations, under the appointment of Professors Suresh Eswarathasan, David Iron, and Theodore Kolokolnikov. While all applicants with a background in analysis and PDEs will be considered, candidates with prior experience in microlocal analysis, asymptotic analysis, dynamical systems, and numerical methods will be given special attention.
