(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow for optical characterization and neuromorphic photonics
- Develop new optical set-ups specifically for localized illumination using a digital micromirror device (DMD), but more generally for optical characterization in the NIR to SWIR
- Develop detection capability around 2um wavelength for microlasers
- Acquisition of required optical active and passive components
- Fabricate photonic neuromorphic devices for random lasing networks in the cleanroom at PSI
- Be responsible for the characterization of the fabricated devices
- Implement automation and machine learning routines
- Supervise PhD Students working on the project
- Presentation of results at conferences and publication in relevant journals

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
- Develop and refine thermodynamic models for fission products release from coolant (Lead-Bismuth alloy), relevant to the safety of Lead-cooled Fast Reactors, using the open-source thermodynamic modelling software (GEMS). Couple thermodynamics to transport codes
- Characterize cementitious pore fluid chemistry using thermodynamic modelling in alkali-activated and ternary-blended binders to assess compatibility with various nuclear waste streams
- Investigate cesium transport pathways and mechanisms from spent nuclear fuel, using GEMS coupling with 2D/3D pore-level lattice Boltzmann simulators. Apply machine learning based surrogate models to accelerate geochemical modelling
- Publishing the results in peer reviewed research papers, and presentations to showcase the work conducted

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
- Optical design for blazed reflection X-ray gratings
- Supporting an external start-up company with the process development for fabrication of such gratings in our cleanroom
- Characterization of the optical parameters in our metrology laboratory
- Testing the performance of prototype gratings at X-ray beamlines
- Publication of the results in peer-reviewed scientific journals

- Perform research in proton therapy, with specific emphasis on patient positioning for treatment of eye tumors
- Develop solutions for non-invasive eye localization based on advanced optical imaging and tracking systems
- Develop and test new solutions for modeling the anatomy, the kinematics, and the optical properties of the human eye

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Warm Pre-Stress and Crack Arrest Fracture Mechanics
- To modify and instrument an existing thermal shock testing system to include a mechanical loading component equivalent to internal pressure
- Design and execution of thermal shock laboratory experiments approximating specific loading conditions as can exist in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel
- Analysis and interpretation of the experiments within the framework of nuclear safety criteria as used in international standards. This may include finite element analyses
- Publication of results in scientific journals and at international conferences
- Collaboration within other service tasks & international projects
