(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:   Research Fellow in AI and Computer Vision

We are recruiting for Research Fellow in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) focused on the problem of ensuring visual content authenticity in the age of Generative AI.     

Join the EPSRC funded DECaDE centre as we develop new Computer Vision and AI techniques to help fight fake news and misinformation – one of the most significant societal challenges of our time.  You will join a group world-leading team of researchers spanning industry and academia with strong track record in publishing and shipping content provenance technologies to create real-world impact in fighting online harms and misinformation, and ensuring a fair and equitable decentralized markets for content re-use e.g. when training AI models.  Alongside our industry partners, we have impacted the development of international standards in provenance and impacted millions of users through commercial implementation of our research.    

As part of the multi-disciplinary DECaDE centre you will be a technologist working alongside experts in AI, cyber-security, business models and experts in design and creative IP law spanning Surrey, Edinburgh and the Digital Catapult.  Together we will develop user-centred technologies to help support creative practioners in the emerging gig/peer-to-peer economy in which everyone can become a content producer or consumer, and in which AI democratizes access to the re-use and creation of content in ways that offer opportunity but also demand new techniques to ensure fairness, inclusivity and safety of these tools.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Fellow

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position in to work part time on an CCLG-funded project: Understanding paediatric ambulatory chemotherapy service provision within the UK. The successful post holder will be based in the School of Health Sciences, working with Dr Gemma Bryan, together with Dr Jess Morgan from Leeds Children’s Hospital. 

The aim of this project is to understand the current status of ambulatory chemotherapy provision within paediatric oncology services across the UK. Taking into account both how services have been implemented and the current experience of receiving or delivering care, this project will consider a range of issues related to AC, which will develop iteratively as data is collected and analysed.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Metabolic Modelling

We are looking for a Research Fellow with expertise in metabolic modelling and computational biology and their application for the analysis of metabolism and the design of strategies for improving the properties of microbial strains. The appointed researcher will design and construct metabolic models based on the information collected from multi-omics experiments carried out by the collaborators, and suggest and propose experiments to select the best producing species and test their performance under diverse culture conditions.

The researcher will liaise, train, and exchange skills and methodology with colleagues from related projects, and will be involved in coaching and supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate researchers. There will be opportunities to collaborate with world-class researchers at other leading academic institutions, as well as with our industrial partners.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Chrononutrition

This is a unique opportunity to work with an established team of researchers with a proven track record in delivering world-leading research in human chronobiology. The research project involves two major human laboratory experiments in our renowned Clinical Research Facility and analysis of a broad scope of temporal data, ranging from subjective questionnaires through to endocrine markers and metabolomics. The successful candidate will play a major role in co-ordinating and running the human laboratory experiments, together with analysis of resulting experimental data and samples. The role will also entail day-to-day supervision of a Research Technician working on the project, and so provides an opportunity to develop managerial skills.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Generative Audio AI

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow (RF) position for 12 months within the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey, UK, to work in the area of generative AI for audio generation with text and video prompts. 

 The post is funded by a leading generative AI startup. The focus will be to develop generative machine learning models and signal processing algorithms for sound generation, given prompts from text and/or video.  This work is built on the recent contributions of CVSSP in the generative AI models for audio generation, such as AudioLDM and Re-AudioLDM, with a focus on scaling up the models with additional datasets and extending the models to include more modalities such as video. 

 The post-holder will be based in CVSSP, and work under the direction of the Principal Investigator Prof Wenwu Wang, with co-supervision by Prof Mark Plumbley, and in collaboration with the industrial partner.
