Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoc in Evolvable soft neural electrodes

The Soft Electronics group is an international team led by Professor Klas Tybrandt and is part of the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE). We develop composite materials, design concepts and devices for soft and deformable electronic systems. Areas of special interest are bioelectronics and neural interfaces, stretchable (semi)conductors, energy harvesting/storage, and actuators. Many of our projects are based on national and international collaborations including a variety of competences. Prof. Tybrandt is the recipient of the ERC CoG 2022 and Wallenberg Academy Fellow 2021. At the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) we explore electronic and optical properties of organic semiconductors, biomaterials from the forest, and hybrid organic materials. We share a common interest in utilizing the combination of electronic and ionic charge for use in healthcare and biology applications, energy, and the internet-of-things. Our research topics include synthesis, material science, theory and modeling, device physics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and system design. Our activities span the range from basic research to commercialization, the latter carried out in close collaboration with the institute RISE. LOE currently has ~150 researchers and research students divided into 8 units, each led by a principal investigator. Read more at www.liu.se/loe

Linköping University (LiU) conducts world-leading, cross-disciplinary research in fields that include materials science, IT and life science technology. LiU is one of the largest universities in Sweden and today has 40,000 students and 4,500 employees. The students are among the most desirable in the labour market and international rankings consistently place LiU as a leading global university. Read more at www.liu.se

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc in Materials Science focused towards materials simulations

The project for which we are now looking for new staff concerns fundamental research within material physics, primarily theory and modelling of atomically laminated materials. We will use open data bases and high-throughput simulations to explore a wide range of known and hypothetical 2D and 3D compounds, their synthesizability and properties. This will be achieved by construction of databases and systematic evaluation of thermodynamic aspects related to synthesis and tunability of properties. The project will involve machine learning, and will be performed in close collaboration with the Department of computer science.

We have a strong track record in the discovery of both 2D and 3D inorganic materials (MXenes, 2D borides, etc.), and regularly publish in high-impact journals. We now intend to explore new materials for sustainable applications such as catalysis, energy storage, and water purification. The postdoc will perform theoretical simulations of 3D/2D materials by primarily Density Functional theory (DFT), for identification of ground state crystal structure, composition and properties, and also generate data for ML procedures. The theoretical work will be closely correlated to related experimental activities, i.e., materials synthesis, analysis, and property testing.

Deadline : 3 April, 2025.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in cybersecurity didactics

Your task as a postdoctoral fellow will be to conduct research on didactics for cybersecurity. There is a great need for education and training in cybersecurity which have led to the creation of many new courses and training forms that are not always based on evidence and didactic principles. Therefore, we need now new knowledge about how we best conduct education in cybersecurity. Different stakeholders have different needs depending on their background and experience and we need to increase knowledge about which methods work best for these different groups. Furthermore, there are great opportunities to arouse interest and engagement through, for example, game-based teaching methods (e.g. CTFs).

Your tasks will be to develop new material and develop existing courses and training courses in cybersecurity through practical and applied research and to empirically investigate how well different methods and approaches work. The research will be published in high-quality scientific conferences and journals. You will participate in projects funded by the EU and contribute to these by participating in discussions and meetings. As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.

Deadline : April 3, 2025.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Generative AI-Driven Data Synthesis for Building Energy Modeling

To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree.  This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you. It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at the application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Computer Science, Visualization and Media Technology, Machine Learning or a closely related research field. A strong background in machine learning and visual data analysis is expected as well as a solid track record of publications in high quality journals and conferences relevant to the field. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are a requirement for this position.

We are looking for someone that is self-motivated, takes initiatives, can work independently and collaboratively. An appreciation for and recognition of the benefits of interdisciplinary research and multicultural teams are necessary.

Deadline :  15th of April 2025.
