(04) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral position on respiratory droplets and pathogen transport in the built environment.
The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with our scientific and technical team, focusing on experimental and numerical aspects of airborne virus transmission. The main objectives are: to characterize and model the transport of potentially virus-laden respiratory droplets and aerosol through the environment; to assess the impact of droplet and aerosol fluid dynamics to the viral transmissibility; to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of measures such as physical distancing and use of personal protective equipment; to assess the risk of indoor infection under different ambient conditions.

(05) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: 2-year postdoc position on development and application of an atmospheric transport model for inverse modelling of greenhouse gas emissions.
Understanding and quantifying anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and their exchange with the biosphere is of great interest in the context of international climate treaties such as the Paris Agreement. Switzerland is one of only three countries worldwide that includes estimates of GHG emissions derived “top-down” from atmospheric measurements in its National Inventory Report complementing the officially reported numbers derived “bottom-up” from statistical data and emission factors

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoc position on electrochemical CO2 reduction.
The research project focuses on the development and understanding of catalysts and gas diffusion electrodes for electrochemical CO2 reduction. Your primary task is to relate catalyst activity and selectivity with their microstructural and chemical features using multiphysics modelling validated by experiments, and understand how these parameters influence the local reagent/product concentrations. You will also be in charge of coupling multiphysics modelling with experiment automation and integration with Empa/ETH’s data management platform as part of a national initiative towards digital chemistry/material science.
