(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: POSTDOC IN CELL BIOLOGY (2024-224-05911)

A Postdoc position is available to explore the enigmas of intracellular signal transduction with a focus on the calcium(Ca2+) feedback loop in IP3/Ca2+-signaling. IP3 stimulates the release of Ca2+ stored in the endoplasmic reticulum through IP3 receptors(IP3Rs). A critical aspect of Ca2+-signaling is the ability of Ca2+ to self-regulate by feedback mainly mediated by the Ca2+-binding protein calmodulin(CaM). When Ca2+ binds, the shape of CaM changes, enabling it to modulate the activity of the IP3Rs. Mutations in CaM cause deadly cardiac arrhythmias and neurological disorders, much like diseases caused by perturbations of the InsP3/Ca2+ signaling pathways. Despite the universality and intersection of these pathways, the mechanisms by which CaM regulates the IP3Rs remain unresolved. Moreover, whether altered IP3R regulation is involved in pathology due to mutations in CaM is entirely unknown.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC POSITION AT THE CENTER FOR NEUROPLASTICITY AND PAIN (CNAP) (2024-224-05903)

CNAP is a research Centre of Excellence inaugurated by the Danish National Research Foundation at Aalborg University, Denmark(www.cnap.hst.aau.dk). CNAP applies a basic research approach to study novel aspects of human pain neuroplasticity, discovering and applying cutting-edge biomedical experimental methods. The ambition of CNAP is to identify and modulate key features of human pain neuroplasticity through a systematic approach, including provoking, probing, and modulating the dynamic neuroplastic properties of the pain system. We are confident that over time, this approach will foster new fundamental discoveries, change the state of the art, and offer novel avenues for pain treatment. Our world class lab facilities enable state-of-the-art quantitative sensory/pain testing, application of advanced neurophysiological techniques(e.g., EEG, TMS, TMS-EEG, rTMS, HD-tDCS), and bio-medical techniques(e.g., linked with epigenetics and general biomarkers) in both chronic pain and pain-free populations, as well as translational research based on animal models(e.g., rodents and pigs).

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN DATA DRIVEN MODELING FOR MONITORING WIND TURBINE BERING OPERATION (2024-221-102697)

We are is seeking a Post Doc candidate for a project in collaboration with Siemens-Gamesa; focused on the development and application of data driven modeling techniques for monitoring the health of the main bearing in wind turbines. This innovative research aims to enhance the operation of next-generation offshore wind turbines through the development of a novel condition monitoring system. The project is founded by Innovation Found Denmark.

Responsibilities: In the project two main approaches are compared. One based on black/gray box machine learning methods and another one on gray/white box data driven methods. The Post Doc will be working with the latter.

The model structure will be founded on first principles models with parameters that ideally possess physical significance. Parameters that are less known or unknown will need to be estimated using Maximum Likelihood or similar estimation techniques. A well-defined model will primarily be characterized by specific turbine and wind condition parameters. The model is used for condition monitoring and fault detection using methods focusing on statistical methods using residual generation and Kalman filtering.
