The research group “Gastroenterology” under the guidance of Prof. Jan Niess at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland, is looking for a scientist interested in mucosal immunology. Our research focuses on investigations designed to study immune responses to the intestinal microbiota and their products leading to intestinal diseases, such as eosinophilic esophagitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Particularly, we will study how food-derived antigens are recognized by the esophageal immune system and initiate eosinophilic esophagitis. The starting day will be February 2024.
