PhD position summary/title: Employment as a PhD student in Medical Science at BKV
You will work on the epigenetics of inherited and sporadic cancers, with a focus on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, as part of Colm Nestor’s research group. You will be part of an active and international research group where you are expected to present your work at both local and international meetings.
As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.

PhD position summary/title: PhD student in Computer Vision for ELLIS PhD program
Our 3D Geometry unit conducts research on estimation problems in multi-view geometry, such as structure-from-motion problems, positioning problems, and self-calibration. The 3D motion unit focuses on reconstructing the movements of humans and animals in 3D. The remote sensing unit works on predicting forest fires using data from remote sensing. Our visual learning theory unit develops machine learning methods conditioned by statistical, geometric, or physical constraints.

PhD position summary/title: PhD student in material science – Soft electronic solid-state cooling
You have graduated at Master’s level in material science, applied physics, nanoscience, material chemistry, or a related field, or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses. Alternatively, you have gained essentially corresponding knowledge in another way.
Experience in stretchable electronics and polymeric caloric materials is a merit. Desirable personal skills and traits for the position are highly motivated, ambitious, problem solving skills and teamwork ability. Research at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics is carried out predominantly in English, so relative fluency is favorable.

(06) PhD Degree – Fully Funded
PhD position summary/title: PhD student in Applied Physics with a focus on conductive binders for energy-storage devices
The main focus of your research is to develop fluorine-free conductive polymer binders for high-performance lithium-ion batteries. By exploring the chemical, physical, and electronic structures of conductive polymers and how these properties affect stability and conductivity, you will contribute to optimizing the design of materials and doping processes for energy storage applications. You will 1) synthesize conductive polymers, 2) investigate their electrical, optical, and mechanical characteristics, and 3) implement them as electroactive thin films in Li-ion batteries. You will work in a multidisciplinary research group comprising chemists, physicists, material scientists, and electrical engineers. As a doctoral student, you will devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects you are part of. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.

PhD position summary/title: PhD student in brain-inspired neuromorphic computing systems on chip
The main focus of the project is research, development, and design of integrated brain-inspired neuromorphic computing systems on chip. The goal is to generate new knowledge and to create state-of-the-art hardware platform solutions for design of energy-efficient computing and signal processing systems for a wide range of future applications in AI and biomedical systems. The project is expected to demonstrate innovative neuromorphic systems solutions to be designed in advanced CMOS and possibly other semiconductor technologies, measured, verified, and published in top international journals and conferences in the field.
