(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher positions focused on the use of advanced AI techniques such as reinforcement learning and large language models for complex system optimi-zation
Our Sinergia consortium unites expertise at the University of Zurich (Mathematical Modeling & Machine Learning) and ETH Zurich (Department of Mathematics) to push the frontier of data‑driven decision support in large‑scale, real‑world systems under SNSF project “From Single‑Disease Research to Informed Machine Learning. We develop methods that combine reinforcement learning (RL) and large language models (LLMs) to optimize processes, automate design choices and reason about constraints under uncertainty. We will appoint up to two post‑doctoral researchers, each specializing in one of the complementary tracks below. The precise application domain will be defined in consultation with the successful candidates and our research partners in epidemiology and related fields.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Electrocatalysis
Our research group explores how complex electrolyte environments influence the reaction kinetics and product selectivity of the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and related electrocatalytic processes. We place a strong emphasis on mechanistic insights and employ advanced, in‑situ characterization techniques—such as FTIR spectroscopy, differential electrochemical mass spectrometry (DEMS), and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM)—to study reaction pathways. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to drive these efforts forward.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in nutritional breath metabolomics
We seek to fill one postdoctoral position as part of a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Vontobel Foundation that focuses on online exhaled breath analysis and nutrition. The primary scientific goal of the Lactobreath project is to utilize metabolomics technologies to identify and measure metabolites associated with lactose metabolism found in exhaled breath. The project will be conducted in collaboration with Agroscope (Liebefeld Campus), University Hospital Zurich, and the Swiss Allergy Centre (aha!). The position will last for one year, with an anticipated start date either immediately or upon mutual agreement.

(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of Direct Detection of Dark Matter using Noble Gas Detectors
The postdoctoral researcher will focus on:
- Developing and implementing a state-of-the-art treatment of the xenon and argon liquid phase using electronic structure calculations.
- Developing computer code for computing ionization rates with general dark matter-electron interactions.
- Exploring appropriate descriptions of electron final states.
- Calculating dark-matter-induced ionization rates for liquid xenon and argon, with full treatment of final states, in-medium screening, and general dark matter-electron interaction types.
