Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Polymer Nanofibers for Solar Fuels Photocatalysis
This position is primarily a synthetic role but will also involve self-assembly techniques, materials characterization and the opportunity to conduct testing for photocatalytic water splitting and carbon dioxide reduction.
This role will involve the synthesis of donor and acceptor block copolymers for the development of heterojunction polymer nanofibers. A range of chain- and step-growth techniques will be explored to develop polymers for crystallisation driven self-assembly (CDSA). CDSA heterojunction nanofibers will then be investigated for solar fuels photocatalysis.
Deadline : June 20, 2025

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Optimization (WASP)
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will engage in independent and collaborative research in one or more of the topics of multimodal machine learning, artificial intelligence for materials science, and advanced optimizers for modern deep learning. The research may be conducted in collaboration with the Electronic and Photonic Materials and/or the Computer Vision Laboratory at Linköping university. You will write and submit research articles to peer-reviewed journals and /or conferences and present research findings at national and international conferences and workshops. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment and contribute to the advancement of research in the foundation and application of modern artificial intelligence.
The position is funded by WASP (Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program,) WASP | Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program which is Sweden’s largest individual research program ever, a major national initiative for strategically motivated basic research, education and faculty recruitment. The program addresses research on artificial intelligence and autonomous systems acting in collaboration with humans, adapting to their environment through sensors, information and knowledge, and forming intelligent systems-of-systems. The vision of WASP is excellent research and competence in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and software for the benefit of Swedish industry.
Deadline : 16 June 2025.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Evolvable soft neural electrodes
The aim of the project is to develop a novel neural interface technology based on soft and deformable conductors and functional materials. A new concept around in situ evolvable neural interfaces will be explored to find novel solutions for integrating soft electronics into tissue while minimizing insertion damage. The research will include materials and devices based on soft and elastic electronic composite materials to facilitate close integration with neural tissue and thereby enabling the translation between biological and electronic signals. Functional materials and probes for in situ actuation, e.g. magnetic composites, will be developed together with methods for controlled actuation. Devices will be fabricated with an inhouse state-of-the-art laser micromachining system. The developed devices will first be evaluated in vitro and finally in vivo with external collaborators.
The host has an excellent track record (50% success rate) in acquiring Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships and the chosen candidate is encouraged to develop an application supported by the host.
As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in the field of Materials Science and Engineering
Computational studies of the influence of microstructural features on the structural integrity of metallic materials using machine learning
Subject area description: Structural integrity of materials is of primary concern in sustainable mechanical design, as more durable products impose longer product lives and allow the usage of less material. Accounting for structural integrity in the design process calls for a technical model of the product concept, i.e., mathematical models of the product and its in-service environment, which inevitably must incorporate the influence of the material and its properties. This research position focuses on computational approaches to assess the influence of the material microstructure on structural integrity, incorporated in technical models intended support design decisions related to manufacturing and process parameter selections; known to influence the material microstructure.
