(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in immunologi.
The position is connected to Professor Eva Sverremark-Ekström’s research group and will mainly be associated with a new collaborative research project between two research groups at Stockholm university and Region Stockholm, where we aim to investigate underlying immune- and epigenetic mechanisms in cardiovascular disease. The project is based on in vitro work on material from clinical cohorts.
Deadline : 10 March 2024.
(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in life history functional genomics
The position will be located within the lab of Christopher W. Wheat, focused upon understanding the genetic basis of an alternative reproductive strategy via our ability to manipulate it using CRISPR/Cas9. Our goals are to identify what causes apparent allocation tradeoffs between genetically determined alternative strategies, whether a single or multiple genetic loci cause the strategies, and what determines the relative frequency of the strategies across species. This position is part of a well funded research grant from the Swedish Research Council. This work builds upon the findings from Tunström et al. “Evidence for a Single, Ancient Origin of a Genus-Wide Alternative Life History Strategy.” Science Advances (2023) https://doi.org/10.1126/sciadv.abq3713.
Deadline :1 March 2024.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Materials Chemistry
The aim of the overall project is to provide theoretical tool to comprehensively understand the physical and chemical interaction of 1,2,4-triazoloium-based ionic liquids and their polymers with CO2. It includes but is not limited to molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory computations. The two key focuses are i) how the intermolecular interaction works to enhance the affinity of 1,2,4-triazolium-based ionic liquids and their polymers towards CO2 molecules. The knowledge obtained here will be used to explain the high CO2 uptake and the sorption selectivity of 1,2,4-triazolium-based porous polymers. ii) how the chemical structure design of the 1,2,4-triazolium-based ionic liquids and their polymers impacts the reaction intermediate thus the reaction mechanism in the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 with epoxide or other compounds. The knowledge obtained here will be used to explain and predict the structure-property-function relationship of 1,2,4-triazolium-based porous polymers in terms of their catalytic conversion of CO2 to cyclic carbonates and other molecular products.
Deadline : 28 February 2024.
(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow in Advancing Seafloor Mapping through Machine Learning for Bathymetric Data Compilation
As our dependence on the oceans grows and the health of the oceans becomes threatened, knowledge of the depth of the seafloor (bathymetry) is essential for understanding climate dynamics, marine ecosystems, resource management, risk managements and much more.
Recognizing the critical importance of seafloor mapping, the Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 project was launched in 2017 with the goal of inspiring ocean mapping and delivering a complete map of the world’s ocean floor by the year 2030 for the benefit of humankind. While the available high-resolution seafloor mapping data has increased, covering about 6% of the world’s oceans in 2017 and almost 25% in 2023, new technologies and approaches will be needed to help fill the remaining 75% of the seafloor that has not yet been directly mapped.
Deadline : 1 March 2024.
(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Forest-based Climate Change Mitigation
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join us in the project “ReForMit – Understanding and securing the resilience of forest-based climate change mitigation” (https://reformit.org) funded by the Swedish Research Council (FORMAS). The overall aim of the project is to generate knowledge on safeguarding the biophysical and social-ecological resilience of forest-based climate change mitigation measures (such as reforestation and prevention of deforestation) under changing hydroclimatic conditions including ecological droughts.
The project’s objectives are to (1) design forest-based climate change mitigation scenarios in close collaboration with stakeholders, (2) quantify the resilience and sustainability of the biosphere integrity of forest-based climate mitigation measures, (3) analyze the local and remote effects of hydroclimatic adaptation, and (4) holistically assess the social-ecological resilience of forest-based climate change mitigation measures. The project is a collaboration between SRC, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany, the Water Centre at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH, and Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
Deadline :17 March 2024.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Tropical Precipitation
In this project we aim to understand the response of tropical precipitation over land to external factors such as global warming or deforestation. The focus is on atmospheric processes and feedbacks, but can be extended to also involve vegetation feedbacks. The position will be associated with the Swedish Research Council project Tropical Precipitation Tipping Points (TPTP).
Deadline : 3 March 2024.
(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Human-Computer Interaction
The postdoctoral position is within Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (SHCI), with a focus on design and the regulatory aspects that shape digital innovation for environmental care, more specifically waste management.
The successful candidate will work on a three-year project with Associate Professor Chiara Rossitto (Stockholm University, DSV), Associate Professor Rob Comber (Royal Institute of Technology – KTH), and Associate Professor Stanley Greenstein (Stockholm University, Department of Law).
The project draws on a view of design as socially, contextually, and politically produced. Within the case of waste management, the goal is to develop design methods and toolkits to explore the relations between values mandated by the law, specific design features, and multi-stakeholders’ perspectives. Connecting to contemporary societal and research challenges – e.g., the ethics of AI, the digitalization of essential urban services, or tensions between regulation and digital innovation – the project will examine design for environmental sustainability, taking into account regulatory frameworks for environmental protection. The position involves the development of new design methods, practical expertise, and scientific knowledge to include regulatory aspects early on, when digital technologies are designed.
Deadline : 29 February 2024.
(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Reversible Lignin Chemistry
The Postdoctoral Fellow position is within “Circular lignin materials from well-defined functional building blocks” (CIRCULIG) project. The project is funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and focuses on developing functional materials that are designed for reuse, repurposing, and recycling. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be a key member of the project team, focusing on the development of lignin-based materials based on reversible chemistries. These materials will be designed to possess both functionality and circularity, finding applications in catalysis, electrochemistry, adhesives, and structural materials.
Deadline : 22 February 2024.
