(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Advanced Vehicle Control Systems
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position that focuses on designing and developing advanced control algorithms to enhance the energy efficiency and safety of the next generation of vehicles with electrified powertrains, with validation via test rigs and vehicle demonstrators. This role also includes modeling and simulating electric vehicles and their components, such as active suspension systems, for control-oriented applications and real-time implementation of the control solutions.
The position is part of the HiPE Horizon Europe project and focuses on developing control solutions aimed at improving vehicle performance by leveraging innovative power electronics technology and predictive health models of the components. The control strategies will target vehicle powertrain control and chassis control, including active suspension, to improve vehicle performance in terms of safety, energy consumption, and comfort.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow
Applications are invited for a 20-months Research Fellow in E-Voting to work full time on an EPSRC-funded project TrustVote: Dispute-Resolution Mechanisms and Systems for Private and Verifiable Voting. The successful post holder is expected to start as soon as possible and will be based in the Department of Computer Science and its highly regarded Surrey Centre for Cyber Security (SCCS), working with Dr. Cătălin Drăgan.
The aim of the project is to build foundations for dispute-resolution and to enhance existing protocols (e.g., Helios, Belenios, Selene, ElectionGuard, Swiss Postal Voting) and/or propose new voting protocols or dispute-resolution mechanisms. Based on the successful candidate’s expertise and interest the role can incorporate machine-checked proof guarantees using tools such as EasyCrypt, Squirrel, Proverif, etc.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Research Fellow
Prof Erich Round is seeking qualified applicants for a fully-funded three-year postdoctoral project on “REVOLUPHON: Rational Evolutionary Phonology”. This postdoctoral project contributes the core cognitive and cultural evolutionary modelling components in the ERC-selected, UKRI-funded project “Rational Evolutionary Phonology”, led by Erich Round in 2024–2029.
The position is based at the Surrey Morphology Group at the University of Surrey, and provides the opportunity to work in the vibrant and highly collegial research environment for which SMG is renowned.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Advanced Electric Powertrain Simulation and Control
The post is part of the High-Scape Horizon Europe project, which focuses on exploring the feasibility of a family of highly efficient power electronics components and systems, including integrated traction inverters, electric drives and chassis actuators. Thanks to the presence in the consortium of industrial partners as well as Universities from all around Europe the project will be able to test its proposed solutions on four full size battery electric vehicle prototypes.
Working under the leadership of Dr Davide Tavernini, Dr Umberto Montanaro and Prof Patrick Gruber, you will be responsible for the day-to-day research tasks in accordance with the project plan. This will include: i) Supporting advanced simulations and modelling of electric powertrains to optimise efficiency and performance; ii) Developing and implementing advanced control algorithms for electric powertrains and chassis actuators to enhance vehicle performance, energy management and comfort; iii) Collaborating with a team of experts in various fields, including electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science; iv) Participating in project meetings, presenting research findings, and contributing to project reports and publications.

(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant in sleep and neuromodulation research
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position in sleep and neuromodulation research as part of the research project, hosted by the newly established REM sleep & neuroModulation (REMnM) Lab at the Schools of Biosciences and Psychology. The REMnM Lab is led by Dr Jaramillo and focuses on the elucidation of REM sleep function by employing multimodal and neuromodulation (closed-loop auditory stimulation) approaches.

The University of Surrey is a public research university in Guildford, England. The university received its royal charter in 1966, along with a number of other institutions following recommendations in the Robbins Report. The institution was previously known as Battersea College of Technology and was located in Battersea Park, London.
