Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Huang Lab
The Huang Lab at National Jewish Health is seeking a talented, highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study super-enhancers in hyper-transcription of cytokine and chemokine genes in inflammation and infection. Our lab uses Next Generation Sequencing (Nat Commun, 2021, 10.1038/s41467-020-20766-0) to identify potential super-enhancers in response to inflammation and infection, use high throughput enhancer barcoded reporters to assess enhancer activity, and uses 4 color sgRNA guides to delete desired enhancers in cell lines, primary cells and mice to determine the function of the enhancers. Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. degree or expect a Ph.D. degree in 2022 in molecular immunology or molecular biology. Experience with molecular cloning, RNA and DNA isolation, RT-qPCR, and cell culture is required. Experience with CRISPR, ChIP, and western blot, and Next Generation Sequencing is highly desired. Compensation will be determined according to NIH postdoctoral stipends.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate – Alam Lab
We investigate signaling, cellular and molecular mechanisms of asthma. The research incorporates mouse models of acute and chronic asthma using genetically modified strains, mouse lung function studies, isolation of immune cells such as ILC2s and T cells from mouse organs as well as human blood and airways from asthmatic patients, functional studies of immune cells using flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, PCR, ELISA, western blot, immunoprecipitation, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, mutational studies, knockdown and other biochemical techniques.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Our lab has discovered and characterized a novel population of resident lung mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in murine and human systems. Research efforts are focused on understanding how these stem cells regulate tissue homeostasis as well as remodeling at the expense of repair during chronic lung disease. Training on specific techniques used in the laboratory will be provided. General techniques utilized in the lab include: in vivo and in vitro modeling of stem cell fate and function, flow cytometry, cell culture, measuring physiology, confocal & 2-photon microscopy and molecular biology (PCR, Western blots, transfections, etc.)
Deadline : Open until Filled
(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate – Seibold Lab
The Seibold Laboratory is a cutting-edge, NIH funded, laboratory focused on elucidating the pathobiological basis of asthma and other complex lung and allergic diseases. Our goal is to discover pathobiological subgroups of disease (termed disease endotypes) and the genetic, environmental, and immune factors driving their development. We are accomplishing these goals through the integration of genomic endotyping studies of large patient cohorts with in vitro mechanistic studies of human organoid culture models. Ultimately, we will leverage the information gained from our research to develop precision medicine approaches for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of these diseases. The Seibold Laboratory is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of “wet lab” cell, airway, and molecular biologists integrated with “dry lab” computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and statistical geneticists.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral research associate – Gorska Lab
A postdoctoral research associate position in immunology is available in the laboratory of Dr. Magdalena Gorska ([email protected]) in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado. The lab studies maternal effects on the immune system and development of allergic diseases, with a major focus on asthma (http://www.njhealth.org/gorska-lab). A proportion of patients with asthma develop symptoms of their disease very early in life, sometimes in the 1st year. Genetic factors are contributory, but fail to fully explain why. It is therefore increasingly recognized that development of early-life asthma is dependent in substantial part on environmental exposures that are encountered by infants after birth and exposures and health status of their mothers during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Dr. Gorska’s lab is focused on maternal factors, trying to delineate the mechanisms underlying their effects in offspring.

About National Jewish Health, Denver, United States – Official Website
National Jewish Health is a Denver, Colorado academic hospital/clinic doing research and treatment in respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders. It is an internationally respected medical center that draws people from many countries to receive care. Founded in 1899 to treat tuberculosis, it is non-sectarian but had funding from B’nai B’rith until the 1950s.
By the late 19th century, Colorado and the American Southwest had become famous for the health benefits of a dry, sunny climate. At that time, the only known treatment for tuberculosis was clean air and sunshine and hundreds of people with tuberculosis descended upon Denver in hopes of finding a miracle cure for what was then the nation’s leading cause of death.[3] Consequently, many people with tuberculosis spent their last dollars coming to Colorado. By the 1890s, it was estimated that one out of every three residents of the state was there for respiratory reasons. However, no facilities existed to provide treatment or shelter to these victims. In Denver, victims of tuberculosis were literally dying in the streets as boarding houses often banned “lungers,” as they were called.
