Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in Modelling of Hydrogen Infrastructure in Energy System Models
The PostDoc is part of a new Competence-Building Research project “Hydrogen Pathways 2050 – Transition of the Norwegian society and value creation from export”, financed by the Norwegian Research Council and industry partners Statkraft, Equinor and Gassco. The project is led by Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) with research partners NTNU and SINTEF Energi. The overall objective of Hydrogen Pathways 2050 is to develop methods and perform analysis to support the transition towards zero emission for the Norwegian society, with a special focus on hydrogen and its use nationally and as a potential export product. We will study transition pathways, with a special focus on hydrogen, but in integration with renewables, natural gas, CCS, and the application of all of these in interplay between the energy sector, industry, transport, and built environment. The analyses will focus on the Norwegian energy system but will be set in the context of European energy system transition. In addition, the project will analyse how different policy measures impacts the integration of hydrogen technologies.
Deadline : 28th May 2023
(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Natural History and Machine Learning
The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions. The position will apply machine learning approaches to extract data from natural history specimens and apply these to address ecological and taxonomic questions. The ongoing climate and biodiversity crises necessitate biodiversity and ecological knowledge based on data at relevant temporal and spatial scales – this data can be derived from natural history collections. Norway has a rich history of natural history collections, dating back to the 18th Century. A substantial quantity of the natural history specimens held in Norway’s museums are digitized, detailing the taxon sampled, date and location published online. The NTNU University Museum has over one million natural history objects dating from the 1700s to present, many of these, in particular the vascular plant herbarium, are already photographed. These collections will be the main focus of the postdoctoral fellowship.
Deadline : 25th May 2023
(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Two Postdoctoral Fellows in drug delivery and immunotherapy using innovative ultrasound solutions
Ultrasound focused on tumours in combination with contrast agent microbubbles injected in the blood is reported to improve the accumulation of drugs in tumours and improve the therapeutic response. Acoustic Cluster Therapy (ACT®) developed by the company EXACT Therapeutics is a promising ultrasound mediated drug delivery platform. ACT® is based on micro-clusters consisting of the microbubble Sonazoid™ and microdroplets. After injecting the micro-clusters in blood vessels, ultrasound is focused to the tumor whereby the microbubbles oscillate and transfer energy to the microdroplets, which undergo a liquid-to-gas phase shift forming a large ACT® bubble. The volume of the ACT® bubbles is typically 1000 times larger than regular contrast agent microbubbles. When the ACT® bubbles are exposed to ultrasound they oscillate and induce biomechanical effects on the vessel wall enhancing extravasation of drugs into the tumour.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Blue Hydrogen Production
The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions Your immediate leader is Associate Professor Idelfonso Nogueira
The project (Reimagining Blue Hydrogen Production: Accelerating Clean Energy Solutions through Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Process Design and Optimization)
A significant portion of hydrogen production stems from Steam Methane Reforming (SMR). The efficient capture of CO2 during SMR is the most prevalent method for producing blue hydrogen, which is the biggest challenge for blue hydrogen clean production. Overcoming this challenge could revolutionize the energy sector. Key objectives for blue hydrogen production include reducing energy costs, minimizing CO2 emissions, and integrating renewable energy sources. These goals can be achieved by rethinking this process at the design and operational levels.

About NTNU- Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway- Official Website
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a public research university in Norway with the main campus in Trondheim and smaller campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund. The largest university in Norway, NTNU has over 8,000 employees and over 40,000 students. NTNU in its current form was established by the King-in-Council in 1996 by the merger of the former University of Trondheim and other university-level institutions, with roots dating back to 1760, and has later also incorporated some former university colleges. NTNU is consistently ranked in the top one percentage among the world’s universities, usually in the 101–500 range depending on ranking.
NTNU has the main national responsibility for education and research in engineering and technology, and is the successor of Norway’s preeminent engineering university, the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), established by Parliament in 1910 as Norway’s national engineering university. In addition to engineering and natural sciences, the university offers higher education in other academic disciplines ranging from medicine, psychology, social sciences, the arts, teacher education, architecture and fine art. NTNU is well known for its close collaboration with industry, and particularly with its R&D partner SINTEF, which provided it with the biggest industrial link among all the technical universities in the world. The university’s academics include three Nobel laureates in medicine, Edvard Moser, May-Britt Moser and John O’Keefe.
