(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Natural Language Processing
You will join the SNSF project Multi-Task Learning with Multilingual Resources for Better Natural Language Understanding. The research project focuses on advancing natural language processing for tasks with little supervised training data by sharing knowledge across NLP tasks, languages and/or modalities. You will work with cutting-edge neural models. You will have some freedom to choose interesting tasks and develop your own approach, but will also be collaborating closely with others (primarily me and PhD students in my group), and you will have other opportunities to interact with the text technology group at the University of Zurich.
Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc Position in Ultrafast Vibrational Spectroscopy of CO2 Reduction
Integrated in an international research group consisting of a mix of PhD students and postdocs, and of Chemist and Physicist, you will first adapt existing experimental instrumentation to the specific needs of the planned experiments, and then pursue the laser-based spectroscopic measurements.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PostDoc or research associate (M.sc.) for the Project: Gene Engineering Macrophages for Cancer Immunotherapy
We are looking for a highly motivated person at PostDoc level or research associate (M.sc.) for our project: “Genetically Engineering Macrophages for Cancer Immunotherapy”. Thus this position is dedicated to establish a humanized mouse model for triple negative breast cancer and subsequently characterize genetically engineered macrophages as a cell based immunotherapy. Therefore hands on experience with tumor mouse models is mandatory. In addition, the scientist would assist in the molecular and cell biology work coming up in the context of this project. Please note, the project is a high risk, high gain project with the medium to longterm goal of introducing the macrophage based therapy to the clinics.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher in social / occupational / organisational mobility using advanced (network) methods
The prospective position holder’s main responsibility is to conduct research with a high degree of flexibility. The type of mobility to be studied (intergenerational, occupational change over the life course, or job mobility), the context (country and/or industry), and the aim (understanding individual mobility, understanding contextual variation on mobility, segregation dynamics etc.) will be determined by the motivation and strengths of the position holder. Conducted research should somehow relate to the conceptual / methodological approach underlying the project.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Position in Molecular/Chemical Biology featuring Photochemistry and Drug Delivery
Dr. Peter Štacko’s group at the Department of Chemistry, University of Zurich is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our research group. Our interdisciplinary research combines organic chemistry, photochemistry and biology, and strives to expand the boundaries of applied photochemistry. We re-engineer existing organic dyes into photocages that release and activate organic molecules when triggered with tissue-penetrating NIR light, and transform them into precisionguided nanotherapeutic systems. Our ultimate goal is to push the frontiers of medicine and enable next-generation, personalized therapy by unlocking novel therapeutic avenues, or by enhancing those that already exist. Visit our group’s website for more information.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doc
We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and innovative individual that works well in a team and is eager to drive our state-of-the-art research forward. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in immunology or related fields. Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in immunology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry and substantial experience with multidimensional flow cytometry and in vivo mouse models are encouraged to apply. Experience with infectious models, contemporary high-throughput sequencing techniques and/or bioinformatics is an asset. Candidates must have excellent knowledge of English (oral and written) and at least one first author publication.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc position in theoretical chemistry
The main focus of the project will be on method development (e.g. in the CP2K package) and its application and should complement one or more current research directions of the group. The latter include (and are not limited to) excited state(s) (dynamics), real time propagation, ab initio/nonadiabatic molecular dynamics, spectroscopy, machine learning, advanced electronic structure, DFT embedding, challenging interfaces, catalysis. The exact topic for the project will be decided based on the interest and experience of the successful candidate. The projects may be carried out in close collaboration with experimental or other computational groups. For further information, please contact Prof. Dr. Sandra Luber.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc
The University of Zurich (UZH) and New York University (NYU) are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join an international consortium dedicated to advancing the field of digital prediction and intervention for suicidality. We invite applications for the following positions: one postdoctoral researcher at UZH in Zurich, Switzerland (in collaboration with Prof. Sebastian Olbrich and Prof. Birgit Kleim), and one postdoctoral researcher at NYU in New York, USA (in collaboration with Prof. Katharina Schultebraucks). MULTICAST is a four-year SNSF-founded project and a collaborative effort between the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich, the Department of Psychology of the University of Zurich, the German Department of the University of Zurich, and the Department of Psychiatry, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, USA. It takes an interdisciplinary approach to the prediction of suicidal ideation (SI) and suicidal behavior (SB) by drawing on key linguistic, psychological, clinical, and neurobiological features. The overarching aim of the project is to broaden our understanding of how suicidal ideation can best be predicted and to develop precise and efficacious smartphone-based treatment strategies.
The University of Zurich (UZH, German: Universität Zürich), located in the city of Zürich, is the largest university in Switzerland, with its 28,000 enrolled students. It was founded in 1833from the existing colleges of theology, law, medicine which go back to 1525, and a new faculty of philosophy.
Currently, the university has seven faculties: Philosophy, Human Medicine, Economic Sciences, Law, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Engineering, Computer Sciences and Robotics, Theology and Veterinary Medicine. The university offers the widest range of subjects and courses of any Swiss higher education institution.
