The Department of Mathematics conducts research and education at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels within mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The department has about 140 employees. The number of annual students at the undergraduate and graduate level is about 770. The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University is Sweden´s largest and most versatile department of its kind with approximately 250 employees. The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, autoimmune and genetic diseases. A fundamental idea at the department is to stimulate translational research and thereby closer interactions between medical research and health care. Research is presently conducted in the following areas: cancer precision medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genomics and neurobiology, molecular tools and functional genomics, neuro-oncology and neurodegeneration and vascular biology. Department activities are also integrated with the units for Oncology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pathology, and Hospital Physics at Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. The department has teaching assignments in several education programmes, including Master Programmes, at the Faculty of Medicine, and at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. The main task of this position is to conduct research. The research project entails the development of metal-organic framework (MOF)-based catalytic materials for the product-selective reduction of carbon dioxide. The MOFs will be interfaced on gas diffusion electrodes, which will then be integrated into different electrolyzer designs. The candidate will collaborate with several groups within Uppsala University and abroad. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. Participation in the supervision of degree projects and doctoral students is expected.

The Human Molecular Ecology lab, at IMBIM, Uppsala University, and SciLifeLab, led by associate senior lecturer Luisa W. Hugerth, is seeking a thorough and engaged postdoctoral fellow. The group studies the human microbiome, both as an outcome of our life history and as an exposure affecting health and disease. Most of our work is focused on obstetrics and gynecology, including the effects of the microbiome on circulating sex hormones. Our work is primarily bioinformatic, using both cohorts collected in collaboration with clinical partners and freely available data. The ability to remain updated, compare and select methods in the fast-moving field of metagenomics is therefore crucial.
