This position is funded by a grant focused on developing innovative solutions for energy-efficient resource management in Edge computing, specifically tailored for eHealth systems through the application of Generative AI. Position Overview This role involves conducting cutting-edge research at the intersection of Edge Computing, Generative AI, and eHealth. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of novel algorithms and frameworks aimed at optimizing energy consumption and resource allocation in distributed computing environments for healthcare applications. This includes leveraging Generative AI techniques to predict resource needs, optimizing task scheduling, and enhancing the overall efficiency and reliability of eHealth services. The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the area of polymer nanocomposites. The Postdoc Fellow should be knowledgeable of material preparation, fabrication and Characterization of Composites and Nanocomposites (biobased resins). The ASPIRE Research Institute for Food Security in the Drylands is looking for a Research Assistant in Business/Marketing with a special interest/experience in Food/Agriculture (or related areas). This Institute features a comprehensive and highly interdisciplinary R&D programme and provides an international collaboration platform for researchers and stakeholders of the public and private food agricultural sector. It strives to generate knowledge and technological innovation in support of food security in the UAE and other arid environments of the world. As part of one of its research themes, the Institute will assess and develop market opportunities for farmed marine fish, native poultry, and other novel food and feed. This will involve studies of consumer preferences and market opportunities and supporting academic studies that evaluate the marketplace receptivity towards alternative farming methods, novel food, feed and supplements for animals and humans. To support this work, the Post-Doc position will require excellent English speaking and writing (Arabic ability an advantage) and a completed PhD degree is expected (ideally from an AACSB-accredited institution), with some evidence of interest/experience in the novel food/alternative farming field. Familiarity with research software programmes should be highlighted. This position is full-time, based in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates, but does have some flexibility.
