We are looking for PhD candidates to join the TACsy (Training Alliance for Computational Systems Chemistry) Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Joint Doctoral Network. This network is combining computer science and systems chemistry and consists of fifteen (15) highly interlinked PhD projects. Each project has its own blend of subjects and skill requirements on the line between computer science and chemistry. The consortium behind TACsy consists of world-class scientists with competences spanning computer science, chemistry, biochemistry, and machine learning. The application deadline is 15 February 2023.

PhD position summary/title: PhD Position in Bacterial Cell Biology in Polymicrobial Community
The new lab will be conducting research on the understanding of the molecular cell biology of bacterial interspecies interaction, as well as host-pathogen interaction, using model organisms such as ESKAPE pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii. The PhD project is aiming to explore what and how different cellular processes are coordinated during Acinetobacter interaction with other bacteria in polymicrobial community at the molecular and single-cell level, using a combination of molecular microbiology, -omics and especially high-resolution live-cell imaging. Moreover, the project will also involve studying the spatial and temporal dynamics of interbacterial interaction.

Logistics tasks in low-volume production represent an important opportunity for automatization via mobile robots. However, for successful application, easy programming solutions are needed to address the variability of the spatial context in full 3D. This project aims to provide an adaptive and re-configurable low-code programming approach for this problem and demonstrate the approach with the mobile platform of Enabled Robotics (ER). The position is part of the project “Low-Code Programming of Spatial Contexts for Logistic Tasks in Mobile Robotics” funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD) through the Digital Research Centre Denmark (DIREC).

PhD position summary/title: PhD Position – Developing a Combined GIS-model Tool for Quantification of Marine Ecosystem Services
The research of the candidate will focus on development of a combined GIS/mathematical model tool to simulate mass budget of ecosystem services for quantification of expressed ecosystem services during simulations of baseline, nutrient reduction and habitat recovery scenarios of eelgrass transplantations, dispersions of mussel banks and stone reefs. Hereby the work includes sensitivity tests, calibration and validation of analytical methods combining nature/environmental processes at habitat and full ecosystem levels.
