The Postdoctoral Fellow position will contribute to ongoing research in grid resilience and to build on the experience to develop new programs in the area, either individually or in collaboration with others on the team. The Center for Electromechanics uses a 1 MW research microgrid to augment the modeling and has a real-time digital simulator coupled to a FPGA system to seamlessly handle grid dynamics and power electronics dynamics on their appropriate time scales when combined in a power system. Related research in the Center for Electromechanics includes modeling cascading failures in critical infrastructures, microgrid protection and control, cybersecurity and physical security, exploiting edge computing for resilience, microgrid protection and control, power systems in electrified transportation, grid situational awareness through smart sensors, and asset management, including component failure prediction.

A central goal of our lab is to learn how developing T cells navigate the complex cellular microenvironment in the thymus to ensure proper T cell development and central tolerance throughout the lifespan. We use a combination of approaches including 2-photon microscopy, multiplex immunofluorescent imaging, multiparameter flow cytometry, and single-cell transcriptional profiling to investigate T cell development in mouse models and patient samples.
