(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Chemical Biology
The post is associated with a major £1.5 million collaborative research programme, funded by the EPSRC “Autonomous Phenotype-Directed Molecular Discovery”. This programme aims to automate the discovery and optimisation of bioactive small molecules in a way that is driven by their phenotypic effects in cells alone. The programme as a whole involves development of a data flow to enable phenotype-directed molecular discovery, identification of biologically relevant, yet synthetically accessible space, and development of chemical probes and their application for biological discovery. This post will lead on discovering, validating and applying chemical probes.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow First 1000 Days, Yorkshire
We are recruiting two Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows to work on the ‘First 1000 Days, Yorkshire’ project, a transformational programme of work to improve the long-term development and life chances of children born into some of Britain’s most disadvantaged communities. Funded by a substantial donation from an individual donor, the project will harness expertise from research groups across the University and work with a range of regional and international partners. This programme has differing workstreams that represent a holistic approach to the crucial first 1000 days of a child’s life. The aim for these work streams, is to develop an overarching intervention that may influence and inform national policy, especially around how supporting early parenting can impact language and cognitive development, healthy behaviours, and support for disabled children and families. Demonstrating the value of the intervention will be critical to the long-term impact of this work.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Information Visualization
The project is underpinned by real-world scenarios from transport (neural networks for predicting pedestrians’ intentions), health (gradient boost and random forest models that explain why diagnoses get lost for conditions that do not remit) and business (using generative adversarial networks to generate the data of synthetic bank and retail customers). At the beginning of the project those scenarios will help us to identify a representative set of tasks that machine learning (ML) developers and stakeholders perform when trying to explain ML models.
Deadline : 03 May 2023
(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant in Palaeobiology
You will be a key member of the NERC funded project “Ecosystem Recovery Following the Permo-Triassic Mass Extinction” and will work with a large research team to explore ecological dynamics across the most catastrophic extinction event in Earth history. Working as a palaeobiologist, you will build data sets and analyse extinction and recovery patterns across the extinction event via the implementation of existing quantitative tools to reconstruct food webs and analyse community structure. You will also support the project leader, Dr Alex Dunhill, in the planning and administration of the project.
Deadline : 02 May 2023
