The Surdez lab at the University of Zurich is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in image analysis and bioinformatics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to visualize and decipher the spatio-temporal organization of the genome and oncogenes in cancer.
Join our dynamic team, which focuses on aggressive pediatric bone cancers, particularly on Ewing sarcoma. In a recent study, we demonstrated how the STAG2 mutation, prevalent in this cancer, alters the formation of chromatin loops, resulting in increased invasive properties of mutated cells (Surdez et al. 2021, Cancer Cell). Currently, we are leveraging super-resolution microscopy and innovative molecular technologies to decipher and perturb these mechanisms in live cancer cell models.

To further develop the Data Donation Module and to analyze donated social media content, we are looking for a person who has the appropriate technical skills and is also interested in working on empirical data donation projects such as the Digital Meal project ( digital-meal.ch ).
