The Winter laboratory at Iowa State University is seeking a postdoctoral associate with a background in photochemistry and preferably time-resolved spectroscopy. The successful candidate will help maintain the laser facility and investigate reaction mechanisms of photochemical reactions using femtosecond laser flash photolysis.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PostDoc Research Associate
The position collaborates with the PI and other group members to conceive and direct project development in diverse areas ranging from soy-based thermoplastics, asphalt materials, performance advantaged polyamides, chemically recyclable polyesters, and block copolymer reinforced resins for additive manufacturing. The position will be expected to design and conduct experiments supporting these projects, to interpret and report on experimental results, to develop and deliver public presentations at internal and external venues, and to guide and train others in the conduct of experiments and data interpretation. The position will also be expected to lead and support the development of research proposals, manuscripts for publication, and intellectual property disclosures. The duties of this position also include the maintenance and supervision of the daily operation of the state-of-the-art experimental facilities.

The collaborative project “Joining Forces: A midwestern partnership of research-intensive institutions for women STEM faculty success” consists of a partnership of four midwestern research institutions: Iowa State University (ISU), Michigan Technological University (MTU), North Dakota State University (NDSU), and Western Michigan University (WMU). Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Scholar
This position affords the post-doc the opportunity to work in a dynamic university counseling center that serves a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, the post-doc will provide individual, couples, and group therapy from a short-term therapy model, conduct intake evaluations, crisis assessment and intervention, and provide outreach programs and consultation to the campus community. There are also opportunities for supervision of trainees from a doctoral program in counseling psychology and to pursue concentration areas (for a semester or for the year). The experimental nuclear physics group at Iowa State University invites applications for two post-doctoral positions to work on the sPHENIX experiment at Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The successful applicant will be expected to take a leadership role in the sPHENIX Topical Working Groups to develop the sPHENIX physics program, with an emphasis on jets, jet structure and heavy flavor measurements. In addition, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in the development of detector systems for EIC project detector, including electronics, data acquisition and simulations. The primary responsibilities of this position include developing and applying mathematical models that are relevant to the field of pharmacometrics and systems pharmacology to aid in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics predictions in multiple species.
