70% of breast cancers are estrogen receptor-positive and treated successfully with endocrine therapy. However, 40% of patients relapse and die from metastases that are refractory or resist endocrine therapy. This position will investigate the molecular mechanisms of endocrine resistance and the potential of a new adjuvant therapy to restore the responsiveness of endocrine-resistant breast cancers to endocrine therapy. One postdoctoral position is available immediately for junior scientists (Ph.D., D.V.M. or M.D.) with a strong background in molecular biology. Previous experience in conducting cell biology research and working with small animal is preferred.

NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the laboratory of Dr. Aubin Moutal, in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at St Louis university to study novel proteins involved in chronic pain in the context of autoimmunity. Our work focuses on first identifying determinants of the transition from acute to chronic pain by reverse translating clinical findings to then perform a complete mechanistic characterization of how these new factors influence chronic vs physiological pain. The PI has a strong record of high impact papers with multiple recent publications in Science Translational MedicinePain, and PNAS. Through the active external collaborations with the New York University (Dr. Rajesh Khanna), the University of Arizona (Dr. Frank Porreca) and with the Institut neuromyogene (Dr. Jérôme Honnorat) in France, the candidate will also grow an interest in ion channel regulation, central mechanisms of pain and paraneoplastic syndromes, respectively.
