The Media & Internet Governance department of the Institute for Communication Studies and Media Research (IKMZ) deals with media-political and media-economic issues of the convergent communication sector. In addition to dealing with traditional media, the focus is on internet governance and platform studies. Successful applicants will work on topics that fall within these research areas. One of the two positions will focus on a research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)

The successful applicant will contribute to the SNSF project “Combining Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Mechanistic Modelling for Advanced Assessments of Ecosystem Photosynthesis”. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow in Plant Epigenetics and Chromatin Biology
The Bischof lab seeks to hire a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a passion for epigenetics and chromatin biology. Our main research goal is to elucidate epigenetic mechanisms that control gene expression and maintain the integrity of the genome in plants and human cells. Ultimately, we aim at applying gained knowledge to improve plant traits and human health. The proposed project aims at identifying and characterizing new proteins that bind specific histone variants and posttranslational modifications in the plant model Arabidopsis thaliana. To do so, a combination of biochemical, genomic and genetic approaches will be used.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Research Associate)
As a Postdoc you will be employed at the Chair of Quantitative Business Administration or the Chair of Mathematics for Business and Economics. The Chair of Quantitative Business Administration focuses on the development of quantitative methods for improved decision making. From the methodological perspective our main interests are in mathematical optimization, in particular, integer programming, combinatorial optimization, bilevel optimization and optimization under uncertainty.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Work & Organisational Psychology
In your project, you will perform field and lab studies to investigate how teams successfully deal with adverse events. You will investigate how teams can potentially counteract the adverse effects of high-pressure situations on team functioning. In your work, you’ll research, among others, concepts like team reflexivity, leader inclusiveness or team decision-making. We are looking for candidates that are passionate about investigating teams in the field and collaborating closely with various industry partners. Research will be conducted in close collaboration with the chair and one Ph.D. student.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher
The aim of this project is to develop mathematical and computational methods on the one hand, and neurolinguistic methods on the other hand to tackle long-standing research questions of fundamental relevance for theoretical linguistics. The project duration is 4 years, starting from February 1st, 2023.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher – Gene and Cell Therapy
The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) is a research institute of the University of Zurich located at the Life Science campus in Schlieren. The mission of the Institute is to link basic research with clinical application by identifying pathological mechanisms of diseases and developing new therapies. The Department of Cell and Gene Therapy at IREM is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to support advancing of gene therapy technologies in the field on immune disorders, central nervous system, and cancer. The goal of the Department is development, testing, and clinical application of new gene therapy technologies for the treatment of genetic diseases in children and adults. Access to the facilities required for the performance of GLP- and GMP-compliant studies is available at the University of Zurich. The Department works closely with the University hospitals of the University Medicine Zurich.
