(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PostDoc position: Value-sensitive design of CO2 conversion with a focus on sustainability
In this research project, the PostDoc will work on the social and ethical perspective of CO2 electrochemical implementation. You will apply a value-sensitive design or design for values approach to the electrochemical conversion of CO2. You will perform stakeholder interviews and do literature review, and on basis of this you will make an overview of the moral and social values that should be taken into account in the design of this new technology. For a number of values, including at least the value of sustainability, you will do a conceptual analysis based on relevant (e.g., philosophical) literature, and you will further specify these values in terms of (design) requirements for the new technology taking into account relevant (e.g., technical) literature. You will formulate these requirements in close cooperation with the rest of the research team and relevant stakeholders (e.g. through workshops).
Deadline : 12-12-2021
(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Low-power Embedded Smart Multi-sensor Platform
Future autonomous always-on smart Edge-IoT nodes must be able to sense a wide variety of stimuli from their environment, interpret the data, and trigger appropriate responses, while surviving on a minimal energy budget. Connecting ever more discrete sensors to a microcontroller-based read-out circuit on a PCB is not sustainable on the long term, because it increases complexity, size, power consumption and bill of materials of the system. Instead, we need a generic scalable, integrated, manufacturable and cost-effective approach for simultaneously sensing a multitude of parameters like humidity, gases, odors, motion, air pressure, and infrared light.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PhD or Postdoc position on numerical modeling of the atmospheric impacts of aviation emissions
Aviation emissions adversely impact the environment, contributing both to air pollution and climate effects. The projected growth in aviation emissions and projected decline in emissions from other energy and transportation sectors, result in aviation emissions’ impacts being increasingly important in both absolute terms and relative to other sectors.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post doc Neuromorphic vision for dones
The project will be carried out within the Control and Simulation section of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. A large component will consist of developing self-supervised neuromorphic algorithms applied to event-based camera data, typically performed with the help of a scripting language like Python. However, during the development of the algorithms, the final application on real onboard neuromorphic hardware has to be taken into account, limiting the allowed complexity of the networks. Successful algorithms will then be ported to a real drone. Although this latter part will be a team effort, it will be highly appreciated if the postdoc can play an important role also in the robotic implementation of the algorithms. The postdoc’s supervisor will be prof. dr. Guido de Croon from the Micro Air Vehicle Laboratory.
Deadline : 01-12-2021
(11) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Computer Science & Electrical Engineering
You will be part of team formed by PhD and Master students working jointly to create a radically different infrastructure: one that relies solely on light and operates in a sustainable manner. At the core of our systems are the use of MEMS and smart materials that can control the amount of light passing through them (similar to using a mirror to change light reflection patterns). We are building novel hardware, analytical frameworks and systems. The ultimate goal is to transform the ‘passive’ lights and ‘dead’ surfaces in our cities and buildings into wireless transmitters and sensors.
