You will work on reducing the tire wear and emissions from tire wear in the form of respirable particles and microplastics. The project is a collaborative project between KTH, Karolinska Institutet and the Swedish Automotive Industry. The tasks include being responsible for and carrying out experimental studies in the laboratory and in full scale of tire and road wear. Food losses and waste (FLW) are serious threats to sustainable development, contributing to both global warming and huge economic losses. Waste streams frequently contain edible components that can be reintegrated into the food supply chain through safe processing, presenting an opportunity to increase food availability without additional strain on agricultural resources. The project will use agricultural by-products and transform these into plant-based food ingredients with improved functionalities and health effects.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with a background in Food Science and Technology, with focus on plant-based ingredients, to join our team. The post-doc will develop new strategies to enhance the nutritional and health benefits of plant protein-based meat analogs via incorporation of valuable nutrients (i.e. dietary fibers, fats/lipids, vitamins and minerals) from various side streams.

The project is part of PLENTY – a Centre for a Symbiotic and Circular Food Provisioning, funded by Formas and will be implemented in collaboration with our industrial stakeholders. The candidate is expected to participate in all project activities, including research, meetings, dissemination of results, and guidance of master’s students.

KTH is developing a third-generation VLSI design style called Synchoros (not a typo) VlSI design style. SiLago (Silicon Lego), a Lego-inspired design framework, has been built with this design style as the basis; see this video for an introduction. A heterogenous CGRA fabric with a parallel distributed control scheme is the micro-architectural basis for the SiLago framework. This post-doc position will enhance an existing synthesis framework using modern compilation frameworks (e.g., MLIR) and enhancing its synthesis engine to target dataflow-centric architectures built with the heterogeneous CGRA fabric. Such a synthesis engine will be used to build a library of algorithm implementations for AI/ML in varying dimensions and degrees of parallelism and explore design space at application and system levels, where application is defined as a hierarchy of algorithms and system as concurrent and communicating applications.

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a strong interest in protein structure and self-assembly processes. Nature has chosen proteins as building blocks for many materials with remarkable functional and mechanical properties. Spider silk, with toughness higher than both steel and Kevlar, is one prominent example. Novel protein materials inspired by these structures could be part of the solution for a sustainable society. However, we need fundamental knowledge about how to assemble materials with properties in line with the natural products with the same efficiency and control as natural producers (e.g. spiders). In this project, we will dissect the triggering mechanisms of structural transition from alpha-helix to beta-sheets in spider silk proteins (spidroins) with the aim to design processing protocols to achieve the corresponding molecular switches in proteins from large-scale agricultural resources.  The project will include investigations of the thermodynamical and kinetic principles of alpha-helix to beta-sheet transitions of proteins as function of pH and ionic strength in bulk solutions, of how air-water and hydrophobic solid-water interfaces trigger structural switches in proteins and peptides, and how conformational changes are propagated within spidroins. 

The position is located at the division of process technology at KTH and will focus on CFD simulation of heat-transfer. It is part of our activity for sustainable processes and decarbonization of industry. The present post-doctoral project focuses on CFD simulations of chemically reacting flows with application to heat recovery. In this project, we consider the flow, turbulence, mixing, finite rate chemically reaction and conjugate heat-transfer in the simulations. The project will cover elementary and real type advanced heat-exchangers. We use both high-fidelity simulations to capture the details of the chemical associated with heat-transfer and commercial codes (ANSYS) for simulating the complex heat-exchanger. The work will consist of setting up simulations, meshing complex geometries, using super-computers, data analysis and presentation of the result. The data analysis might include some coding in python for creating/modifying short scripts for using Machine -Learning or modal analysis techniques.

In the Department of Robotics, Perception and Learning (RPL), research is carried out in computer vision, robotics and machine learning. At the division of resource recovery of the department of chemical engineering we conduct research within a number of projects with the common objective to develop sustainable recycling processes for separation and recovery of valuable and critical metals from various waste streams. Developing novel, efficient and green recycling processes is of crucial importance in the transition to a circular economy. We are looking for a postdoc to work in a project focusing on developing controlled crystallization of metal salts. The work includes the design and experimental study of simple model systems as well as more applied studies. The applicant should have extensive experience in laboratory work and is expected to be able to work independently as well as in collaboration with colleagues at KTH and other universities.

The project is focused on developing crystallization processes within the recycling of blended cathode materials of the type NMC and LFP. This is a collaboration with NOVO Energy R&D and is funded by the Energy Agency.

Developing novel, efficient and green recycling processes is of crucial importance in the transition to a circular economy. We are looking for a postdoc to work in a project focusing on developing controlled crystallization of metal salts. The work includes the design and experimental study of simple model systems as well as more applied studies. 

The overall project is focused on production of NMC cathodes from secondary raw materials. The work at KTH will focus on crystallization of battery precursors. This is a collaboration project funded by Horizon Europe, which involves close collaboration with other universities and companies in Europe.

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to develop and improve models and codes for assessment of the liquid source term during severe accident (SA) of LWR systems. In particular, research will include assessment of the characteristics of the containment water pool by system code, thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of Cs and Sr chemistry including model development and its implementation to the system codes. This project is contributing to the larger EU project SOCRATES which addresses the critical gaps in understanding of the liquid source term during SA and offers innovative solutions to mitigate and monitor the release of radionuclides into the environment.
