Translating Research into Elder Care (TREC) is a collaborative partnership of investigators and decision makers whose aim is to improve quality of life and quality of care for older people in residential care. TREC began an integrated program of research in 2007 and has run continuously since. One of TRECs keystone projects, Improving Nursing Home Care through Feedback on PerfoRMance Data (INFORM), was a successful trial with managers and their care teams from over 60 long-term care (LTC) facilities in BC and AB. Building on this work TREC is working with stakeholders and funders in BC to support wider scale implementation of INFORM. A process evaluation run in parallel with implementation of phase 1 will examine how trained facilitators support implementation of INFORM, the fidelity with which they do so, and the barriers, facilitators and contextual factors that influence implementation.
