UT Austin is seeking an ecologist to lead a field research crew conducting studies and surveys in a recently burned section of the Stengl Lost Pines Biological Station. The fire and fire response have significantly altered the research template of the field station and the goal is to re-establish the long-term studies through biological surveys and collections.  The Research Leader will develop protocols, oversee the studies, manage the data, analyze, and publish some of the findings.  Studies will include plant community (point-quarter and quadrats), soil nutrients and microbiome, amphibian & bird surveys (acoustic and trap-cameras), insects and macrofungal surveys.

To conduct and oversee scientific, programmatic and research operations of the Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Frontier Research Center (ERFC) entitled Materials for Water and Energy Systems (M-WET).

The Multilingual Aphasia and Dementia Research Lab at the University of Texas, Austin (MADR Lab, PI: Stephanie Grasso, PhD, CCC-SLP) is seeking to fill a postdoctoral research position. Research in the MADR Lab focuses on developing treatment approaches for bilingual adults (Spanish-Catalan; English-Spanish) with progressive aphasia, on better characterizing the manifestation of aphasia and neurodegenerative disorders in individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and addresses bilingualism as a contributor to cognitive and neural reserve. Both research sites utilize current approaches in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, and cognitive rehabilitation to address these issues. This position is based in Austin, Texas and includes the possibility of traveling for site visits in Barcelona, Catalonia. This position is currently funded for two years.

Serve as a research associate and air pollution exposure scientist leader on research projects focused on air pollution exposure and its health effects.

The fellow will be highly involved in research design, data analysis and manuscript preparation using data from completed and ongoing studies. This includes collection of primary data in the field at community sites for a federally funded, mixed-methods project that involves implementing and testing a mobile health intervention called iCAN (Interactive Care Coordination and Navigation) among people experiencing homelessness using a randomized, controlled trial design. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on a project that involves advancing medication therapy management in Texas.

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an enthusiastic early career scientist for a three-year, full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow position as part of an NSF-funded project on anthropogenic aerosols and climate change. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Geeta Persad at UT Austin in Austin, TX and Dr. Clara Deser at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO.

The focus of their research project will be to overcome limitations of observed historical labels with the goal of developing reliable and trustworthy ML decision support tools.
