Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Associate (Linguistics)
The associate will collaborate with P.I. Sam Tilsen (Linguistics) and a team of undergraduate web engineers to design and develop an online system for collecting speech data from remote participants while they play a cooperative map-navigation game. The associate will subsequently use this system to conduct longitudinal experiments on the evolution of speech behavior in small networks of speakers.
We are looking to hire one researcher with a background in bioinformatics of genomic and/or phenomic data, and/or statistical genetics. Strong skills in scripting and command line coding are necessary, as are excellent written and verbal communication. Researchers with experience in human, animal, and other non-model organisms are especially encouraged to apply.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in functional biomaterials and clinical translation
Applications are sought for a postdoctoral fellow position in Putnam Lab at Cornell University. The position is joint between the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering and the Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The successful applicant will lead and support research projects focused on the design and synthesis of functional biomaterials. One key attribute for the position is that the postdoctoral fellow will be immersed in the process through which functional biomaterials are developed and translated into the clinic (i.e., start-up companies, scale-up synthesis, process validation, biocompatibility analysis, FDA regulations, financing models, IP portfolio design, etc.)

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate
NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Fenghua Hu’s laboratory at Cornell University to study molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Candidates with prior experiences in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry or neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate – CALS – Department of Global Development
The landmark article, Biomass use, production, feed efficiencies, and greenhouse gas emissions from global livestock systems, has been used in global and regional studies on livestock and food systems over the last 10 years, including many Integrated Assessment Models that feed into analysis by the IPCC, IPBES, EAT-Lancet, etc. The postdoctoral associate will steer an update of this dataset by developing a global, high-resolution, spatially explicit dataset of biomass use, production, feed efficiencies, and greenhouse gas emissions of animal production systems. The work would include collecting, processing, structuring and harmonizing data, as well as developing tools to ensure the dataset is easily updatable and accessed, and ensuring good documentation. This project is a collaboration with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and is funded by the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability’s strategic partnership with EDF. There may also be opportunities to collaborate with the FSGC team’s other related projects and to develop independently-driven projects.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Associate (Humanities Scholars Program)
The Humanities Scholars Program seeks Cornell University scholars who have completed a PhD in any discipline, including the humanities, interpretive social sciences, and the creative arts; we also welcome scholars who conduct interdisciplinary research that transcends traditional disciplines. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate – Soil and Crop Sciences
Seeking outstanding individual to assist with research and project management in the Thies Soil Ecology Laboratory. The position is located in the Section of Soil and Crop Sciences within the School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS) at Cornell University. Research aims to strengthen understanding of the interaction between biochar particles and soil and the functionality of key soil exoenzymes. Effects of biochar on gene expression, and changes in soil bacterial and fungal communities and the enzymatic capacity of the soil community in response to biochar amendment in different soils. The incumbent will coordinate research, gather, manage and analyze data, write articles and reports, support teaching activities, and supervise undergraduate research students.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Phenomics Postdoctoral Associate
We are looking to hire one researcher with a background in bioinformatics of phenomic data. Researchers with experience in human, animal, and non-model organisms are especially encouraged to apply. Join Breeding Insight (BI) at Cornell University and help develop new tools, technologies, and methodologies to support specialty plant and animal breeding programs adopting genomics, phenomics, and breeding support software. Breeding of specialty crops and animals has lagged behind major crops and livestock, though these specialty species together have equal economic value to the major crops and provide valuable nutrition and flavor to diets. Breeding Insight currently supports USDA-ARS breeding programs for 19 species. One of Breeding Insight’s aims is to accelerate breeding efforts by integrating the use of phenomics (trait analysis) with genomics and natural variation to increase the rate of genetic gain to create healthy, nutritious, and sustainable specialty crops and animals. To accomplish these objectives, the Breeding Insight program integrates a team of USDA-ARS breeders (based at research locations across the US), with a scientific team and a software development team. We are looking for researchers that want to tackle these important technology transfer challenges to democratize access to genomic selection for specialty species.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate in Skeletal Muscle Spatial Transcriptomics – Biomedical Engineering
Research description: Recent collaborative advances by the De Vlaminck and Cosgrove laboratories have developed new approaches for studying muscle regeneration and cardiac infection biology at the single-cell level. Our labs have built novel technologies for spatial profiling of the total transcriptome through in situ polyadenylated to achieve unprecedented complexity and resolution of non-coding and viral RNA species. Further, we have exploited single-cell and spatial transcriptomics analyses to generate large-scale data atlases of skeletal muscle regeneration to explore the spatial context of cell-cell communication. The candidate will play a central role in multiple multi-PI collaborative projects with the goal of applying total transcriptomic profiling in single-cell and spatial workflows to study human and skeletal muscle development and disease pathogenesis. This work will entail genomic and transcriptomic technology development and application and bioinformatic data analysis. These research projects are supported by multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate: Public Policy and Public Engagement
The Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking an independent and highly motivated researcher with expertise and/or interests in public policy, the intersections between research and policymaking, and equitable approaches to public/policy engagement. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate – Entomology
Disease Ecology/Microbiome Postdoc! Come join an incredible collaborative team with the power to do experimental host-pathogen work on disease transmission with a cultureable marine pathogen. Full-time position in a National Science Foundation Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases (EEID) funded project, focused on understanding controls on Eelgrass Wasting Disease. The EEID project includes experimental lab, field and modeling components and 4 different postdoc positions. This postdoc position is focused on experiments to test the role of the eelgrass microbiome in disease resistance and controls on disease transmission and will be resident at Friday Harbor Laboratories for all or part of the year.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Associate – Collaborative on Media and Messaging for Health and Social Policy team
The Postdoc Associate will work closely with Dr.’s Jamila Michener, Neil Lewis, and Jeff Niederdeppe on a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant entitled, “Developing Rapidly Responsive Community Engaged Research on Media Messaging and Narrative Change Strategies to Promote Health and Racial Equity.” The specific responsibilities of the postdoc will include (but are not limited to) analyzing policy content, synthesizing publicly available public opinion data on relevant health and social policies, assisting in conducting experiments, drafting policy reports, and supporting engagement with state and local community partners. There is no teaching associated with the position, but the Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to be an active contributor to COMM HSP activities.
