Collaborate on research in the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Gunnar Martinsson. Will conduct research on randomized algorithms for solving linear systems, and related problems in linear algebra, optimization, and scientific computing.

The Tight Oil Resource Assessment (TORA) project is looking for a full time researcher with experience in energy economics to enhance its production outlook methodology. The position requires working closely with TORA subsurface scientists and data analysts. The position requires combining solid fundamental knowledge of business economics and profitability. Ability and desire to communicate ongoing research with project sponsors is essential.

The fellow will primarily work with Dr. Leticia R. Moczygemba, whose research program focuses on working with communities and health-systems to mitigate health disparities by developing patient-centered interventions to optimize health outcomes. The fellow will be highly involved in research design, data analysis and manuscript preparation using data from completed and ongoing studies. This includes collection of primary data in the field at community sites for a federally funded, mixed-methods project that involves implementing and testing a mobile health intervention called iCAN (Interactive Care Coordination and Navigation) among people experiencing homelessness using a randomized, controlled trial design. The fellow will also have the opportunity to work on a project that involves advancing medication therapy management in Texas. The fellow will also assist with project management which includes serving as a liaison with various community partners. The fellow will take part in training activities such as courses and seminars related to research methods, as needed, and grant writing and preparation.

Collaborate on research in the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences under the supervision of Dr(s) John-Paul Clarke, Ufuk Topcu and/or Karen Willcox. Will help lead research efforts in a project aiming to establish an algorithmic foundation that will support the development, deployment, and adoption of advanced air mobility systems for autonomous cargo operations at scale. The project is funded by NASA through its University Leadership Initiative. The postdoctoral scholar will collaborate with teams from University of Texas at Austin, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Purdue University and a range of additional partners from academia, industry, and government.

   The postdoctoral fellow will coordinate and aid in the collection and dissemination of a project aimed at understanding the behavioral and neural basis of socioemotional processing. The project involves neuroimaging, neuropsychological and personality assessment, and linguistic analysis.

The postdoctoral fellow will engage in cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research that integrates synthesis of small-molecule probes with mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics for in vivo studies in cells and animals. The research associate will receive training in chemoproteomics, lipid biochemistry, in vivo pharmacology, and mass spectrometry. Example projects include the design, synthesis, and application of covalent small molecules targeting lipid metabolism and signaling in inflammation and immuno-oncology. This position will provide opportunities for extensive collaboration (both virtual and through occasional site visits) with a research team of world leaders in neuroimaging and evolutionary biology located in Austin, TX (Carlos Botero, Integrative Biology @ UT Austin), Saint Louis, MO. (Joseph Culver, Biophotonics Research Center @ Washington University in Saint Louis) and Bochum, Germany (Onur Güntürkün, Biopsychology @ Ruhr-Universität Bochum). The successful applicant will assist with the development of methods for the analysis and interpretation of functional connectivity data and with the development and validation of HD-DOT imaging for birds. The project will also offer opportunities to develop new evolutionary methods for large-scale cross-species comparisons of functional connectivity.

The Meyers Lab and UT Center for Pandemic Decision Science at The University of Texas at Austin are immediately seeking an outstanding postdoctoral scholar to help with the development of innovative pandemic simulation games to: (1) elucidate individual and group decision making dynamics during pathogen threat events and (2) support pandemic preparedness efforts, including the development of pandemic response plans and the training of governmental decision makers. The simulation games will integrate computational models of disease and behavioral dynamics and draw on scientific theories from the field of cognitive science and engineering regarding situational awareness and decision making.

The Keitt Lab in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Associate (postdoc) with expertise in electrical engineering or a related field at the time of hire. The selected candidate will assemble and program ten waterproof biosensors designed to record and process bird calls, ambient temperature, soil moisture, ambient light, and send data files over WiFi. Successful applicants will have knowledge of Linux systems, proven system integration and software architecture skills as well as familiarity with Raspberry Pi computers. As a key senior team member, the candidate will also be expected to aid in the training of junior lab members and testing biosensors in the field.

Carry out flow cytometry and transcriptional profiling experiments to test the impact of conditional deficiency of MHC-II in specific HAPC subsets on negative selection and Treg selection throughout the perinatal to juvenile transition (Aims 2a and 3).Carry out 2-photon imaging and in vitro selection experiments (Aim 3) to determine if the perinatal thymus does not efficiently induce negative selection and if altered APC interactions contribute.Carry out in vitro and in vivo Treg suppression assays, as well as functional assays of T cell autoreactivity.Analyze data for all above experiments, prepare presentations on data for our group, participate in all relevant group meetings/journal clubs, coordinate data analysis with other investigators on the P01 and write manuscripts describing findings for timely dissemination to the research community.
