We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to the Acquired Brain Injury in Children (ABiC) program. This person will have expertise in concussion, traumatic brain injury, and acquired brain injury. Ideally they will also have experience in non-invasive brain stimulation.  They will be required to engage in research to further their expertise and growing research profile, aiming for national recognition in their discipline.

As a Research Fellow within the ABiC program, you will mentor and supervise students, conduct data analyses, manuscript preparation, and pursue independent and collaborative funding opportunities to support research initiatives. The Thomas Group is at the forefront of collaborative research in autoimmune disease, partnering with statisticians, computational biologists, immunologists, and rheumatologists to analyse clinical trial and cohort data. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to research on the conversion of carbon dioxide (CO₂) into valuable products using microbial fermentation. This project aims to expand the spectrum of CO₂-derived products by integrating anaerobic gas fermentation with aerobic chain extension of CO₂-derived C2 molecules. The primary focus is on the production of functionalized fatty acids for applications in polymer synthesis, the use as plasticizer, lubricants or fuels. This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to engage in research in a structural biology and structure-guided inhibitor design. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study magmatic processes conducive to mineralisation in energy-critical metals, focusing on porphyry copper deposits in arc magmas. The program’s overall goal is to understand how mechanical communication between cells supports the homeostasis and integrity of epithelial tissues. The team uses an interdisciplinary approach, working with national and international collaborators to combine experimental cell biology, optical microscopy, biophysical assays and physical theory. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fellow with experience in neuroimaging, ideally with expertise in ultra-high field (7T) imaging. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and participate in research programs at the Queensland node of NIF, located at the Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and the Herston Imaging Research Facility (HIRF).

The opportunity is open to an experienced Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A), Research Fellow (Level B) or a Senior Research Fellow (Level C). You will be expected to provide project planning and image analysis expertise on a collaborative and consultative basis to both local and external users of the NIF facilities.
