The postdoctoral fellow will engage in cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research that integrates synthesis of small-molecule probes with mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics for in vivo studies in cells and animals. The research associate will receive training in chemoproteomics, lipid biochemistry, in vivo pharmacology, and mass spectrometry. Example projects include the design, synthesis, and application of covalent small molecules targeting lipid metabolism and signaling in inflammation and immuno-oncology. The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team studying Arctic permafrost thaw behavior and its impact on Arctic Green House Gas release, abundance, and composition. This project will develop a framework, from core to regional scales, for modeling current and future greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Perform research objectives of “Molecular and Ecological Studies on Enhanced Adaptation in Plant Polyploids” in a project funded by Stengl-Wyer endowment grants program.

The State of Texas Advanced Resource Recovery (STARR) program is looking for a postdoctoral researcher capable to develop multi-phase flow simulation in support of increasing oil production in Texas oil fields.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in optics, waveguides, fibers and molecular spectroscopy. Additional responsibilities include mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, wiring scientific papers, writing grants, leading collaborations with clinical teams, and assisting with other optical-sensing projects in the group.

Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s are major causes of death and disability worldwide. Although these diseases have different clinical presentations, mechanistically they all involve the formation of neurotoxic soluble oligomers of misfolded proteins. The aim of the collaborative project between UT Austin and MD Anderson Cancer Center is to develop an optical microfluidic device capable of detecting protein oligomers in a biological sample. Successful development of such a device could lead to unprecedented capabilities for diagnosis and treatment.

The Texas Child Study Center, a collaboration of Dell Children’s Medical Center and the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School is offering three full-time Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship positions for the 2022-2023 training year. The Technology & Information Policy Institute (TIPI) in the Moody College of Communication at UT Austin invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow who conducts mixed-methods research at the intersection of science communication, disasters, and artificial intelligence. The selected researcher will become a valued member of our multidisciplinary TIPI team and will have additional opportunities to work with the Living and Working with Robots (LWR) project of the UT Austin Good Systems Research Grand Challenge, as well as the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas.   The candidate will work with stakeholders to conduct field-based, mixed-method research, and design and lead projects that fit their own goals.

The State of Texas Advanced Resource Recovery (STARR) project is looking for a postdoc capable to characterize the sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleoecology and geochemestry of the Wilcox Group in onshore Texas with the aim of integrating these observations using an earth-system modelling approach to 1) better understand thermal maximum events, their impact in past climate and usefulness as modern analogs and 2) refine the stratigrapic and chronostratigraphic correlation of onshore Wilcox intervals to better assess geothermal and CCS potential within the State. The position requires performing multidisciplinary research and integration of sedimentological/stratigraphic, geochemical and biostratigraphic data, among other data types. The position requires proficiency in at least one G&G subdiscipline, exeperience describing siliciclastic units both in core and outcrops and a proven record designing data acquisition campaigns and analysing data both in the lab and in the field. Proven record of excellence working in multidisciplinary and collaborative environments is required, as well as commitment to contribute to both academic and applied knowledge leading to publications in international peer-reviewed journals. The postdoc will interact with Texas operators and other state level stakeholders.
