The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the mentorship of Dr. Monica Cox and in collaboration with Dr. Amena Shermadou to advance interdisciplinary research in engineering education. The scholar will contribute to ongoing projects and initiate original research centered on faculty development, workplace culture in academic and professional settings, culturally responsive pedagogy, organizational change, and other emerging topics. Emphasis will be placed on applying research insights to workforce development, equity-driven educational practices, and systemic transformation across STEM education and leadership ecosystems. This position is designed for a scholar committed to advancing inclusive excellence and systemic and institutional change. The scholar will play an active leadership role in mentoring students, translating research into practice, and supporting the College of Engineering’s Fellow-to-Faculty program’s efforts to guide scholars into impactful careers across academia, industry, and policy.

We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar to join the AquOTic Research Team – a leading lab focused on occupational therapy-based water competency intervention for children on the autism spectrum and other developmental conditions. This exciting opportunity offers:

• Leadership in clinical trial coordination, including oversight of intervention fidelity, participant recruitment, and regulatory compliance.

• Active involvement in manuscript development, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications.

• Hands-on engagement in data collection and quantitative analysis, including management of behavioral and cognitive measures.

• Direct implementation of the AquOTic therapeutic protocol, delivering weekly evidence-based aquOTic sessions and conducting individualized assessments.

This postdoctoral position is dedicated to studying autophagy functions in glia for breast cancer brain metastasis. The Wang laboratory also focuses on the functions and mechanisms of selective autophagy and lipid metabolisms in neural stem cells, microglia, and astrocytes. The lab developed novel genetically engineered mouse models to study roles of autophagy genes in brain developmental and in progress of breast cancer brain metastasis. We use a variety of techniques including single cell RNA-seq, single nuclei RNA-seq, single cell lineage tracing, human iPSC derived cerebral organoids, chemogenetics, clarity technique, patch clamp, super-resolution images, metabolic/molecular/cellular approaches to gain insights in autophagy’s functions in human developmental disorders and breast cancer brain metastasis.  

The Department of Physics within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our CMS Experimental group working at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.  

The CMS group invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that will be based at the OSU campus. The group is involved in several analyses and upgrade projects, including the Track Trigger Upgrade for the high luminosity running of the LHC and searching for Beyond the Standard Model physics using effective field theory.  The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in analysis of Run 2 and Run 3 data in the top-antitop + photon analysis using effective field theory.  The candidate will take a leadership role to move the analysis toward publication.

The post-doc would be expected to conduct literature reviews, organize workshops, and implement surveys of database managers/developers, fishery managers, and academic and agency researchers, to help identify a data-sharing architecture (“database ecosystem”) suitable for use in the Great Lakes Basin. A potential need to conduct structured or semi-structured interviews also exists. Ideally, this database ecosystem would allow end-users (e.g., academic and agency researchers, fishery managers) to simultaneously query independent Great Lakes databases and download their needed data through a user-friendly online interface.

In addition to writing and submitting manuscripts for publication to peer-reviewed journals, the post-doc would be expected to present findings at management and scientific meetings, as well as help generate annual progress reports to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, which is this project’s sponsor. The opportunity to contribute to ongoing fisheries-focused research in the Great Lakes basin, including refining and using an independent Great Lakes Recruitment and Ecosystem (GLaRE) database would also exist, if of interest.

Required: PhD in social science, data science, computer science, information systems, environmental science, ecology, or related field. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability and desire to interact with Great Lakes stakeholders and database managers/developers from diverse international organizations.

We are seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the development and clinical translation of advanced MRI methods for women’s imaging. The ideal candidate will have a passion for scientific discovery and bold initiatives that seek to break barriers and maximize clinical impact. Applicants should have experience with MRI pulse sequence and/or reconstruction method development substantiated by successful conference abstract and manuscript output. The position of Post Doctoral Scholar in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) offers an excellent opportunity to conduct research in an interdisciplinary team with healthcare professionals, computer science/AI experts, and health communication/implementation science experts. The Post Doctoral Scholar is expected to design and evaluate AI-based systems for clinical decision-making and/or disease management, conduct surveys and interviews with clinicians and patients, write grant proposals, and publish high-quality papers in top computer science journals/conferences and biomedicine journals.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and motivated research team, utilizing an array of techniques in protein chemistry, biochemistry, peptide synthesis, enzymology, cell biology, and human iPSCs to explore disease mechanisms and the roles of protein kinases and PTMs (e.g., phosphorylation, ubiquitination). Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research related to supportive care, including but not limited to pain, in individuals with cancer. Additional areas of focus may include prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use and use disorders in people with cancer, behavioral intervention development/testing, and implementation science. Responsibilities may also include participating in qualitative interviews and analyses, participating in other study design and analysis, preparing manuscripts and grants, and training others (e.g., students, staff) in relevant methods and procedures.

Postdoctoral researcher will implement clinical interventions with people with cancer under the supervision of Dr. Sharla Wells-Di Gregorio. The primary study involves implementation of a combined mHealth-telehealth symptom cluster (sleep, worry-anxiety, fatigue, depression) intervention for people with advanced cancer (1R01CA281885-04A1). This study will also examine immune and hormonal biomarkers that affect symptom clustering. The second involves a brief telehealth intervention with people with pancreatic cancer. Postdoctoral research will collaborate with Dr. Wells-Di Gregorio on manuscripts, grants, and presentations. Additional responsibilities will include data management and analyses, collaboration with biomedical labs, and teaching/supervision of research staff. Postdoctoral researchers have the option to obtain additional clinical hours toward licensure if desired.

We are inviting applications for 2 postdoctoral positions in our laboratory at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Department of Neurology & Neuroscience Research Institute. Our lab focusses on axon-glia interactions and on how glial metabolism regulates axon integrity and myelination (e.g., Nature Neuroscience, PMID 32807950; Nature Neuroscience, PMID 25195104; PNAS, PMID 28484008). Examples for current projects are in vivo and in vitro mechanistic studies on how metabolic perturbations in oligodendrocytes result in compromised axon integrity, and research on metabolic adaptations in Schwann cells/oligodendrocytes that support the survival of injured axons.  The Post Doctoral Researcher will pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Neurology; plan, design and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collect and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identify and select problems to be studied; develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols; attend research seminars; contribute to manuscript preparation and support technical writing; participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; perform additional duties as assigned.

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary collaboration between Dr. Yuan Xue (Department of Biomedical Informatics) and Dr. Andréa Ferreira Zandoná (College of Dentistry) at The Ohio State University. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and dental health, with a focus on building multimodal AI models to predict dental caries progression.

The successful candidate will work on developing deep learning and computer vision models using longitudinal dental imaging data—primarily intraoral radiographs—integrated with clinical and behavioral data collected from multiple collaborating institutions. The overarching goal of this research is to enable early and accurate prediction of caries lesion progression to support precision prevention and treatment planning. The postdoc will lead efforts to design multimodal learning architectures (e.g., attention-based fusion, progression-aware temporal modeling), perform rigorous model validation, and help translate research findings into clinically meaningful insights in close collaboration with dental experts.

This is a full-time position based in Columbus, Ohio with an initial appointment of two years and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
