The present postdoctoral project is part of a collaborative project between the Atlantis project-team from the Inria Research Center at Université Côte d’Azur,  (2) Thales R&T in Palaiseau, France, which is the main multidisciplinary research center of Thales group, and one of the main world players in professional electronics (3) and Nanoe in Ballainvilliers, France, whcih is  a SME (Small and Medium Entreprise) specialized  in development and fabrication of innovative ceramic materials for the industries.

ACENTAURI is a robotic team located in Sophia Antipolis that studies and develop intelligent, autonomous and mobile robots that collaborate between them to achieve challenging tasks in dynamic environments. The team tackle perception, decision and control problems for multi-robot collaboration by proposing an original hybrid model-driven/data driven approach to artificial intelligence and by studying efficient algorithms. The team focus on robotic applications like environment monitoring and transportation of people and goods. In these applications, several robots will share multi-sensor information eventually coming from infrastructure. The effectiveness of the proposed approaches are demonstrated on real robotic systems like cars AGVs and UAVs together with industrial partners.

ACENTAURI est une équipe de robotique dirigée par Ezio MALIS qui étudie et développe des robots autonomes et intelligents qui collaborent entre eux pour réaliser des tâches difficiles dans des environnements complexes et dynamiques. L’équipe aborde les problèmes de perception, de décision et de contrôle pour la collaboration multi-robot en proposant une approche hybride originale de l’intelligence artificielle basée sur les modèles et les données et en étudiant des algorithmes efficaces. L’équipe se concentre sur les applications telles que les systèmes multi-robot rondiers pour la surveillance de l’environnement et le transport de personnes et de marchandises. Dans ces applications, plusieurs robots partagent des informations multi-capteurs provenant éventuellement de l’infrastructure. L’efficacité des approches proposées est démontrée sur des systèmes robotiques réels comme les voitures et les drones en collaboration avec des partenaires industriels.

The team addresses perception, decision, and control problems for multi-robot collaboration by proposing a novel hybrid model- and data-driven approach to artificial intelligence. TITANE is a team led by Pierre ALLIEZ that studies 3D geometric modeling and digital processing of geometry. The team designs algorithms and geometric data structures, notably for shape reconstruction, shape approximation, mesh generation and algorithmic components used for the digital twin.

This project is established in the framework of a consortium with technologists, physiciens, biologists and statisticians. It aims to develop a breakthrough approach for the diagnosis and evaluation of cancer metastasis from blood samples by the first smart MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) equipment performing high content biophysical characterization of cells in flow for their identification by statistical learning.

The team expertise encompasses mathematical (stochastic) and numerical modelling of ocean flows, observational and physical oceanography, data assimilation and machine learning. Gathering this large panel of skills, the team aims at improving our understanding, reconstruction and forecasting of ocean dynamics, and more specifically to bridge model-driven and observation-driven paradigms to develop and learn novel representations of the coupled ocean-atmosphere dynamics ocean models. The postdoctoral researcher will work with Noé Lahaye (Inria, Rennes), but close collaborations with other members of the team, in particular with Aurélien Ponte (Ifremer), are expected. The postdoc will be based either at Inria (Rennes, France) or at Ifremer (Brest, France) — as he/she pleases.

Defrost team at Inria (https://team.inria.fr/defrost/) focuses on the modeling, simulation and control of soft deformable robots (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_robotics). Our vision is that future robots don’t have to be «rigid» but made of complex deformable structures, composed of stiff and soft regions, close to organic materials that we can find in the nature. Soft robotics opens very attractive perspectives in terms of new applications, reduction of manufacturing costs, robustness, efficiency and security. It could result in great advances in robotics in the next years.

Since few years we are witnessing the emergence of manycore architectures, namely to the implementation of massive parallelism on a single chip. Associated with the shrinking size of the transistors, these manycore architectures should reach the integration of thousands of heterogeneous cores allowing huge parallel computation capabilities suitable for high-performance embedded computing systems and HPC.

• This postdoc position will be funded by the Rakes and AllOpticall2 ANR Projects.
  These projects involve Inria Taran (Rennes/Lannion), INL (Lyon), Lab-STICC (Lorient), and TIMA (Grenoble).

• The Taran team has already a strong background in on-chip interconnects, and on the emerging interconnect paradigms (WiNoC, ONoC) targeted in this project.

Développer un outil de vérification de propriétés électriques pour des circuits intégrés, en se basant sur les méthodes traditionnellement utilisées pour le model-checking de circuits au niveau logique (BDD, SAT et SMT solving). Dans un premier temps, un prototype sera développé, et les techniques pourront être intégrées à l’outil de production d’Aniah si les résultats sont satisfaisants.

A two-year postdoctoral position is available in team BEAGLE at Inria Lyon. At BEAGLE, we study cellular systems through computational models and bioinformatic data analysis, in order to better understand their organizational principles. In this postdoc we want to focus on the optimization of printing time through the management / modification of the nozzle trajectory. This trajectory is originally determined by the slicer and a number of works have already demonstrated that it is possible to propose strategies that improve the trajectories with regards to the reduction of printing time [2,3,4,5,6,7,9]. However, these works do not take into account the nature of the printed elements and thus do not take into account the printing quality. Moreover, the optimization strategy itself is hardly parameterizable.

With the help of the researchers at CIDRE and RESIST team, the recruited person will be taken to conduct research in two perspectives. We aim first to provide transferable ML-based intrusion detection systems. In this study, the ML-based intrusion detection model should be designed to be easily adapted to different network traffic data sources without relearning from scratch. For example, we first train an intrusion detection model using network traffics from some attack campaigns from CIC-IDS-2018 [1]. After that, we want to identify the optimal hyperparameters or the optimal detection model using a few network flows of the other attack campaigns of the same dataset. The adapted model should achieve accurate detection over the other attack campaigns during test. In this sense, the designed ML-based detection model can be flexibly reused without the intense retraining cost in different network intrusion detection applications. Potential Machine Learning methodologies, e.g. meta learning [2] or transfer learning [3], could be useful to achieve fast adaption of the intrusion detection methods across different data sources, or across the drift of attack behaviours. 

The postdoctoral position is funded for two years by a European Union’s Horizon 2020 grant for ALMA: Human-centric algebraic machine learning, which is part of the European HumaneAI program. The chosen candidate will join the ExSitu research team and collaborate with Prof. Wendy Mackay and Dr. Janin Koch, as well as the DFKI (German Institute of Artificial Intelligence) and other partners.

The project GRANULAR is coordinated by CIHEAM Montpellier and the work will be held within the Joint Research Unit TETIS. You will be working mainly with Diego Marcos (Inria), Dino Ienco (INRAE), Tristan Berchoux (IAMM) and Ian McCallum (IIASA), with other potential international collaborations (Joint Research Centre, University of Southampton), with occasional travels in different EU member states.

The Inria FUN research group investigates solutions to enhance programmability, adaptability and reachability of FUN (Future Ubiquitous Networks) composed of wireless devices, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), connected vehicles. Limited resources, and high mobility evolving in distrusted environments characterize the objects that compose FUN. They communicate in a wireless way. To be operational and efficient, such networks have to follow some self-organizing rules. Indeed, components of FUN have to be able in a distributed and energy-efficient way to discover the network, self-deploy, communicate, self- structure in spite of their hardware constraints while adapting the environment in which adapting the environment in which they evolve. Le centre de recherche Inria de Saclay a été créé en 2008. Sa dynamique s’inscrit dans le développement du plateau de Saclay, en partenariat étroit d’une part avec le pôle de l’Université Paris-Saclay et d’autre part avec le pôle de l’Institut Polytechnique de Paris .
