Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Researcher – Cyber-Physical Systems’ (CPS) Resilience
This project focuses on the electric power system as a cyber-physical system with a particular focus on approaches that enable the integration of distributed renewable generation. The core research question is how to design the control infrastructure of future electric power systems to ensure resilience of the system, i.e. how to leverage distributed and centralized coordination and ad hoc clustering to make the system more resilient even with high penetration of renewable generation. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Cytology / Genetics
Meiosis is an essential cell division within the life cycle of the vast majority of eukaryotes. However, this fundamental process is sensitive to cellular context (e.g. redox state), and environment (especially temperature). This is due, it seems, to the biophysical properties of meiosis proteins, and/or chromatin remodeling proteins. Within the lab, we are studying how meiosis is perturbed by the environment and how plants (in our hands, Arabidopsis arenosa, though we are open to working on other well justified species as well) evolve meiosis to new habitats. We have candidate genes from prior genome scans, and now seek to perform follow-up work to learn more about the adaptative evolution of meiosis.
