A postdoctoral scholar position is available immediately in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU). The postdoc will lead high-resolution model development and application of watershed and water quality models. The selected candidate will work under project funded by the State of Ohio to evaluate the water quality benefits of agricultural conservation practices in the western Lake Erie watershed under climate change, to guide the management of harmful algal blooms in the lake. The postdoc will coordinate efforts with a collaborative team of researchers at three institutions and will help organize/engage an advisory group.

Our lab focusses on axon-glia interactions and on how glial metabolism regulates axon integrity and myelination (e.g., Nature Neuroscience, PMID 32807950; Nature Neuroscience, PMID 25195104; PNAS, PMID 28484008). Examples for current projects are in vivo and in vitro mechanistic studies on how metabolic perturbations in oligodendrocytes result in compromised axon integrity, and research on metabolic adaptations in Schwann cells/oligodendrocytes that support the survival of injured axons.  The Post Doctoral Researcher will pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Neurology; plan, design and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collect and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identify and select problems to be studied; develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols; attend research seminars; contribute to manuscript preparation and support technical writing; participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; perform additional duties as assigned.

Dr. Jenny Wang, a professor at Department of Cancer Biology and Genetics, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center invites applications for full-time researchers at the level of Postdoctoral Researcher. We are looking for scientists with a doctoral degree, outstanding academic credentials and a record of scholarly productivity in the areas of tumor biology, immunology and genetics. The research in Wang laboratory is focused on basic and translational research projects that aim to understand molecular mechanisms of colorectal cancer metastasis, immune evasion and therapy resistance. For example, there are several projects on tumor cell intrinsic regulation of cGAS/STING innate immune signaling, which seek to understand tumor immune evasion mechanisms and to identify new therapeutic avenues and facilitate development of strategies to increase anti-tumor immunity and to enhance therapeutic efficacy of immunotherapy and chemotherapy. The main goal is to identify therapeutic targets and develop effective treatment that can be tested in clinical trials. Successful candidates will conduct research to determine molecular mechanisms of colon cancer immune evasion, metastasis and drug resistance, identify and validate novel targets using 2D- and 3D- cell cultures, mouse models and PDXs, and ultimately develop effective therapies to treat colorectal cancer patients.

The School of Earth Sciences and the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, at the Ohio State University, are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team that is exploring groundbreaking renewable and carbon-free subsurface energy resources. The project involves close collaboration with an industry partner, facilitating unprecedented access to real field data. Tasks will include translating field data into suitable inputs for reservoir simulations, performing and analyzing compositional multiphase flow and transport simulations with our in-house research reservoir simulator, and adding new capabilities to our modeling toolbox. The successful applicant will play an integral role in supporting the success of high stakes field-scale pilot projects, which will take place within the duration of this position.
