The Brady lab led by Dr. Donita Brady is part of the Department of Cancer Biology and the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. We are currently recruiting three postdoctoral fellows to join our research program at Penn. Our research program at Penn is founded in a new paradigm in nutrient sensing and protein regulation, termed metalloallostery, where redox-active metals control kinase activity, and is advancing our knowledge in basic science and disease-focused areas. Our focus lies at the intersection of kinase signaling and copper (Cu) homeostasis with the goal of defining the mechanistic features of Cu-dependent kinases to target them in cancer via drug repurposing or development.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: postdoc position: epigenetic inheritance
The Lampson lab at the University of Pennsylvania (Department of Biology) seeks a postdoctoral associate for two complementary projects related to epigenetic inheritance through the mammalian germline. The first is a collaborative project to create synthetic mammalian artificial chromosomes, funded as an NIH Transformative Research Award. The second focuses on the centromeric histone variant CENP-A as a prototype for protein-encoded information transmitted between generations. Projects are multidisciplinary and take advantage of collaborations with synthetic biologists and structural biologists.

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Elizabeth White, Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. https://www.med.upenn.edu/whitelab/ Our collaborative team studies the molecular biology of human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms by which HPVs modulate host cell processes and cause cancer. Projects are available in several broad areas. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Functional Genomics
he University of Pennsylvania Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for research on the pathobiology and genetic risk factors of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). The successful candidate will participate in a large NIH-funded study uniquely focused on identifying phenotypic and genetic variables associated with POAG in African Americans. POAG is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the world today. This heterogeneous disease is known to manifest differently across and between genetic populations, yet most POAG research has focused exclusively on genes of European ancestry. POAG is five times more common and ten times more likely to cause blindness in African Americans compared to European Americans, and occurs earlier with more rapid progression in this over-affected population.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Stem Cell Biology
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a postdoctoral position in the Gadue laboratory in the Center of Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Gadue laboratory focuses on using human ES and iPS cell models to study human pancreatic development and diabetes. The NIH funded position aims to study multiple forms of diabetes using genome engineered stem cell lines with a focus on endocrine lineage cells. Projects available include using the stem cell model to functionally validate variants discovered by genome wide association studies and their target genes in beta cell biology, especially in regard to cellular stress and how this relates to diabetes pathogenesis. In addition, projects on the study of monogenic forms of diabetes are also available, focusing on HNF1A and its downstream targets in endocrine cell development and function. Techniques used widely in the laboratory include CRISPR based genome engineering, stem cell culture, in vitro differentiation, flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy and various genomic techniques (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq etc…). Prior experience in some of these areas while not required would be beneficial.

These positions will offer opportunities to develop and apply advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) strategies for integrative analysis of multidimensional imaging, omics, biomarker and clinical data, with applications to the study of complex disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD related dementia (ADRD). Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow or research associate
Postdoctoral and research associate positions are available immediately to develop novel cancer immunotherapy, i.e. chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-expressing T cells, to eradicate human neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and gastrointestinal cancers as well as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and investigate the unique molecular mechanisms on how CAR constructs, including the binders and the signaling domains, improve the T cell antitumor activity to eliminate solid tumors. These positions require experience in molecular cell biology or immunology and ideally experience with various mouse tumor models and flow cytometry analysis. Experience in T cell biology is valuable. The candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow in vascular biology
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available at Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania for joint projects on cardiac repair in ischemic heart disease. We aim at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying vascular dysfunction after myocardial infarction with a focus on endothelial cell plasticity and metabolism. The goal of this study is to develop new regenerative therapeutics by targeting vascular aberrancy and reprogramming vascular niche to promote cardiac repair after myocardial infarction (Nature Cardiovasc Res 2022). We are also interested in cell therapy for cardiovascular disease by targeting macrophages or fibroblasts using CAR-T immunotherapy, a promising strategy that our laboratories have developed for treating cancer (Nature Cancer 2021).
