The postdoctoral fellow will conduct independent research on molecular and cellular factors contributing to development of osteoarthritis with special emphasis on exosomes (extracellular vesicles). This position requires participation in projects focused on analysis of human proteome and transcriptome, utilizing Western blot, next-generation sequencing technology (e.g. RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq etc.), qPCR and other methods. It also includes analysis of exosomes (size determination and quantification with NanoSight, analysis of the exosomal cargo, confocal microscopy etc.). The postdoctoral fellow will analyze and summarize collected data in written form and, together with principal investigator, write manuscripts and publish results of research in scientific journals.

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine – Section of Cardiology to conduct research in skeletal muscle biology. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Tadashi Yoshida and Dr. Patrice Delafontaine.  The project involves, but is not limited to, studying the changes in skeletal muscle molecular signaling pathways, physiology and function in multiple chronic disease models including cardiovascular disease and cancer.  The position involves both in vitro and in vivo studies.  Experience in both basic molecular biology and in handling rodents is highly desirable.

We seek a highly motivated, proactive and collaborative individual. This job involves designing and conducting research projects, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, presenting at national/international conferences and writing manuscripts. The Pl will closely work with the successful candidate for training in all of these aspects, and the candidate will be encouraged to apply for independent postdoctoral fellowship grants within 2 years.

Eosinophilic disorders are allergen induced lung and gastrointestinal diseases, commonly observed in both pediatric and adult patients. Our laboratory is working to understand the mechanism that is operational in inducing including Asthma, lung fibrosis, eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroenteritis by using transgene or allergen-induce mouse models.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in conjunction with the Principal Investigator to perform the following research activities: identify available transgenic and gene-deficient mice for the research study; induce eosinophilic disorders in mice by allergen challenge; maintain and  monitor  mouse colony; collect tissue and cell cultures; maintain data book and plot graphs of research experiment results; conduct patient biopsies and blood samples for translational work; and participate in regular laboratory meetings and seminars, as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Suzana Savkovic, a cancer research laboratory located within Tulane University, Department of Pathology to work on NIH funded project addressing cancer metabolic signaling. The projects will focus on the mechanisms of metabolic and transcriptional remodeling mediated by lipid droplet dynamics in colonic tumorigenesis, especially one driven by obesity.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Postdoctoral position.  Duties include:

• Conduct biomedical experiments and perform data analysis
• Develop the ability to start a novel project independently and the ability to complete it
• Translate research data into publication-quality figures and tables, and draft manuscript for publications.

The applicant will work on NIH funded research projects. The postdoctoral Fellow will study the mechanisms underlying colonic tumorigenesis mediated by DGATs dependent  Lipid Droplets dynamic, especially promoted by obesity.

Three postdoc positions are available to work in a highly interactive and energetic lab investigating non-canonical transcriptome regulatory mechanisms driving virus replication, oncogenesis and inflammatory responses in the human oncogenic virus, Epstein Barr virus. Approaches include a wide array of RNA and DNA sequencing methods (e.g. RNA-seq, CAGE-seq, GROSeq, eCLIP, Cut-n-run, HiC, single molecule sequencing, single cell sequencing), molecular biology assays, cell and animal manipulation, and the use of extensive publicly available, in-house developed, and new high throughput data analysis methods.

The position will be centered on modeling climate-plant-water interactions in salt-affected ecosystems, with a specific focus on coastal wetlands and their vulnerability to sea-level rise and salinization. The work will require developing simplified models of the plant hydraulics under osmotic stress and designing their upscaling to larger (plot up to ecosystem) scales for hydrologic and climate modeling applications. Prior experience with the parametrization of plant hydraulic traits and stochastic modeling, and familiarity with eddy covariance methods and data are strongly preferred.

The Section of Endocrinology at the John W. Deming Department of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking talented and motivated applicants with training and experience in epidemiology, population health biostatistics, bioinformatics, or the equivalent to join the research lab led by Dr. Yilin Yoshida. Dr Yoshida is an Assistant professor of Medicine at Tulane.  Her research program is centered on sex/gender-based cardiometabolic epidemiology.  One of her major focuses is to investigate mechanisms underlying women’s excessive risk of vascular complications in diabetes and identify and test intervention targets to improve diabetes management in men and women. 

This is a full-time position with a 2-year service/training period with the possibility for yearly renewal dependent upon performance and continued funding.  Candidates with research experience in cardiometabolic epidemiology are strongly perferred.  The fellow’s time will be devoted to data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant application support, and career development.

A postdoctoral position is available investigating genetic/epigenetic control of cardiac and vascular senescence. We are seeking a postdoc with a strong background in molecular biology, imaging, animal work, and biochemistry. Prior experience with laboratory mouse and rat models is required and experience with pig models would be beneficial. The postdoc will be responsible for projects involving cardiac fibrosis and senescence. Epigenetic regulation of fibrosis will also be a focus. Tasks include experimental design, animal model development, siRNA assays, data interpretation, and manuscript writing. Additionally, pre-planning projects, RNA isolation, quality control, qPCR, protein assays and quantification, Western Blot, cell culture, single cell and next-gen sequencing experiments, and immunocytochemistry-based assays will be completed during the course of the project. The postdoc will also assess new technology in this area as it develops and suggest/make protocol improvements.
