The team members will work to build hardware for the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. This includes design and implementation of the modular and compact optical system for the laser beam modulation using acousto-optical and electro-optical modulators, delivery of the beams to the inside the vacuum chamber, and implementation of the diffraction limited optical system for ion imaging and addressing of the individual ions with the laser beams.

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of advanced exhaust treatment catalyst materials and devices for ammonia (NH₃) combustion engines. This role involves cutting-edge research at the intersection of catalysis, materials science, and environmental engineering, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of NH₃-based combustion technologies.

Rapid decarbonization of economies worldwide is needed in order to avoid the potentially catastrophic consequences of climate change .This will require no further accumulations of carbon in the atmosphere (achieving “net zero” emissions) by 2050 and involve major structural and behavioural changes globally.  Forests capture carbon from the atmosphere, a proportion of which is stored (sequestrated) for as long as the trees remain. Increasing the size and permanence of the store, or sink, through afforestation or reforestation and/or improving the governance and management of forests potentially offers a means of withdrawing additional carbon from the atmosphere, thus contributing to climate change mitigation and biodiversity preservation, while also strengthening adaptive capacity among vulnerable communities.  Many state and non-state actors have invested or are considering investing in forest carbon in Southeast Asia as part of achieving net zero. Despite this, relatively little attention has been directed towards understanding and addressing the risks in these investments (so-called transition risks). If left unaddressed, transition risks jeopardise the value of investments; ultimately they could undermine climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.

The Research Associate/Assistant will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the various research projects on time. Research Associate/Assistant may be deployed either in NUH or other collaborating sites (e.g. Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, National University Polyclinics), and will be exposed to a range of health services research, population health research, human biomedical research and clinical trials. The team’s currently active projects include – but are not limited to – understanding patients’ and spouses’ quality-of-life during colorectal cancer treatment, barriers and facilitators to cancer screening, understanding perceptions towards obesity and community weight management, and acceptance of telemedicine initiatives in primary and tertiary healthcare settings.
