Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Postdoctoral Resident Scholar (Chamber and Collaborative Music)
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a full-time two-year post-doctoral position as collaborative pianist/coach with experience in a broad range of instrumental repertoire (strings, woodwinds, brass) for the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25. Duties will be flexible, depending on the candidate’s interests and areas of expertise. Additionally, the position includes performing as collaborative partner with faculty, guest artists and students, and coaching collaborative projects involving piano students and their assigned partners. In the fall semester 2016, the Jacobs School of Music created a new Chamber and Collaborative Music Department, in which the post-doctoral position now resides. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the activities in the new department. The committee may recommend hiring two candidates.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Smith Lab
The initial appointment for this position will be for 12 months. Additional 12-month extension will be available based on performance and/or availability of funds. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doctoral Scholar/ Research Project Manager
Indiana University is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to provide comprehensive project management support for an Indiana University-wide student success initiative, Charting the Future. The Charting the Future initiative includes a set of integrated strategies to improve college and career readiness for Hoosier students. The initiatives include career pathway and high school graduate outcomes assessment partnerships with K12 partners, analysis and improvement of both in-person and technology based career services at the University, and efforts to improve the equity of grade outcomes in difficult, required introductory courses in mathematics and the sciences. The Postdoctoral Scholar will report directly to the grant project co-PI who manages the project on behalf of IU’s President and Provost. Duties include tracking all initiatives, producing periodic reports on project progress and taking a lead role in contributing to the practical, research and scholarly products of the project.

The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in lattice field theory. One position is focused on performance analysis and optimization of the MILC code for configuration generation (with possible extensions to support GPUs with QUDA or Grid). This position will help in the design of the next generation of highest performance computer for the National Science Foundation. The second position will investigate enhancement of multigrid algorithms for staggered quarks. It will involve collaboration with applied mathematicians as well as lattice field theorists at Boston University and the University of Utah. Both positions will allow the successful applicant to interact with members of the Fermilab Lattice and MILC Collaborations.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join the Metal Isotopes Laboratory, the research group led by Dr. Shelby Rader. The postdoctoral researcher will gain experience in the daily operations of a trace metal isotope lab, including wet lab chemistry, instrumental setup (ICPMS and MC-ICPMS), analysis, and data reduction/interpretation. They will also be provided mentorship in project design, budgeting, day to day managing of lab facilities, and proposal writing. They will be provided opportunities to assist in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, if they are interested, and to summarize findings and publish results in journals and/or present findings at scientific meetings and conferences. This position will include contributing to currently ongoing projects, which focus on metal mobilization and fractionation within the critical zone, as well as the ability to develop new research projects in related fields utilizing available instrumentation.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, to work with Dr. Luis Fernando Chaves. This is a school-funded position for one year that can be renewed for an additional year depending on successful performance. The position includes benefits and compensation that is congruent with NIH stipend levels. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, but applications received by December 20, 2022 will be given full consideration, and the search will remain open until suitable candidate is found. The earliest anticipated start date is January 20, 2023.
The postdoctoral fellow will join a multi-disciplinary team of epidemiologists, ecologists, modelers, vector biologists, geographers and other social and environmental scientists to do research on the impacts of changing environments on vector-borne diseases. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatrics
A postdoctoral fellowship position is immediately available to study the molecular mechanisms that modulate cardiogenesis. The lab is interested in understating the gene regulatory networks that modulate the cell specification and differentiation that are responsible for the morphological patterning of the developing mammalian heart. We employ mouse model systems and are particularly interested in how basic Helix-loop-Helix transcription factors regulate heart formation and their roles in congenital heart diseases. Evaluating gene regulatory networks within myocardium, endocardium, epicardium, and the neural crest cells that compose the heart allows us to start unraveling how these diverse cell types coordinate with each other to define functional contraction, conduction, outflow tract, and chamber patency. The position offers a unique opportunity for a talented scientist to work in a dynamic and innovative environment. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow: evaluating the proximate causes and evolutionary consequences
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join the Ledón-Rettig lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Indiana University. We use interdisciplinary approaches to understand both the proximate mechanisms mediating developmental plasticity and its ecological and evolutionary outcomes. To answer these questions, we use spadefoot toads, whose larvae exhibit extraordinary developmental plasticity in response to dietary and social cues; further, this plasticity is associated with the evolution of novel and complex traits, such as predaceous and often cannibalistic behaviors. A successful candidate will combine transcriptomic, genomic, endocrine, behavioral and morphological analyses to understand (1) how these traits arose evolutionarily, and (2) how early life responses to the environment carry-over into adulthood and future generations, through transgenerational mechanisms.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
The laboratory of Dr. Ruben Vidal is seeking outstanding applicants for a postdoctoral position to research the molecular mechanisms associated with neurodegenerative diseases. The projects will involve a range of biochemical, genetic and cell biology approaches that include (but are not limited to) mutagenesis, cloning, establishment of primary cell cultures, animal handling, stereotaxic surgery and characterization of mouse models. In addition, the laboratory has an interest in structural biology of amyloid proteins, having a strong publication record on determining protein structures by cryo-EM of protein aggregates isolated from human brain. The laboratory has a large collection of brains from individuals affected by neurodegenerative diseases.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow-Alzheimer’s-related Neuroimmunology
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Randy Brutkiewicz at the Indiana University School of Medicine to study the role of innate immunity in Alzheimer’s disease-associated neuroinflammation. Qualified applicants with a Ph.D. (or equivalent training and experience) in Neuroimmunology, Neurosciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry is essential. Technical skills including the handling and differentiation of iPSCs would be preferred, although not required. This is an initial one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension for more years.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow, Physics (Nuclear Physics/Precision Measurement)
The IU experimental nuclear physics group has an active and diverse program addressing fundamental questions in nuclear physics, particle physics, and astrophysics/cosmology. Group members are leaders in a wide range of experiments, including: investigations of the flavor and spin structure of the nucleon using the STAR detector at RHIC and Belle II at KEK; studies of parity and time reversal violation between nucleons at NIST, SNS, LANSCE, JPARC, JLAB, and FRM, measurements of neutrino properties at Fermilab, SNS, SURF, and LNGS, neutron decay and neutron interferometry at NIST, LANSCE, SNS, ISIS, and ILL and searches for possible exotic spin-dependent interactions. The group is a part of the Center for the Exploration of Energy and Matter (CEEM) at IU which includes research in experimental condensed matter and theoretical nuclear physics. Group members include professional staff in electronics, mechanical engineering, cryogenic design, and machinists, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. Local facilities include a low-energy neutron source (LENS) available for neutron detector development and testing, high-bay facilities for large-scale fabrication, professional and student machine shops, a polarized 3He lab, a dilution refrigerator, and a vibration isolated lab for weak force measurement. A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Roger Innes in the Department of Biology at Indiana University Bloomington to develop disease-resistant wheat using genome editing approaches. This project is funded by USDA–NIFA and builds on our successful decoy engineering platform as described in publications in Science and Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions. In brief, this project will focus on the development of decoy substrates for proteases secreted by Fusarium graminearum, causal agent of Fusarium Head Blight (FHB). Cleavage of decoy substrates by Fusarium proteases will activate endogenous immune responses, thereby conferring enhanced resistance.
