05 Postdoctoral Fellowship at Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark

The postdoc will consider two complementary approaches based on deep generative models e.g. generative adversarial networks, denoising diffusion probabilistic models, variational autoencoders, and normalizing flows. In the first approach, we want to embed the governing physics during the training of the deep learning architecture, while in the second approach our physical model i.e. MagTense is directly targeted and incorporated into the learning process. The position will be conducted together with a postdoc at DTU Compute, who is similarly working on physics-aware machine learning as part of a Villum Foundation Synergy Project. Based on this close collaboration with expertise from both physics and computer science, we aim to unleash the potential of combining machine learning with physical simulations to speed up the green transition.

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering invites applications for a position for 3-4 Post-Doctoral Fellows to be hired within the frame of EU collaborative projects with focus on upgrading carbon emissions using biotechnology. Your background is on anaerobic biotechnology, fermentation, bioconversion technologies, bioprocess design, biomass/waste valorisation. We have currently several projects in which we need well qualified Postdocs, preferably with some years of Postdoc experience.

This postdoc position will focus on modelling the magnetocaloric liquefaction device using an existing model which has been used for over a decade for modelling magnetocaloric devices at DTU. Modelling activities will include material screening, development of more detailed and more computationally efficient regenerator models and assessing design concepts for the prototype magnetocaloric system. The results of the modelling will be crucial for the project partners, who will realize a liquefaction prototype, and you will get to collaborate with these partners.

This postdoc position is part of the center of excellence SPOC (Silicon Photonics for Optical Communications) which has developed and demonstrated record-breaking solutions for future optical communication systems using state-of-the-art technology within photonic integration, optical constellation shaping, coding and fibre transmission technology. The goal of this postdoc position is to realize record data transmission using optical frequency comb sources and massive spatial- and wavelength multiplexing. In this project the successful candidate will combine various technologies developed in SPOC to advance the international state-of-the-art within optical communications. The project is centered on frequency comb sources and testing their fundamental limits in the context of data transmission but with a significant multi-disciplinary element of incorporating the technologies developed in SPOC.
