Dr. Tamiya’s lab focuses on ocular fibrosis and associated cellular changes, including epithelial mesenchymal transition and myofibroblast differentiation. His group utilizes both in vitro and in vivo models to examine molecular mechanisms involved in these cellular changes, as well as to test potential therapeutic compounds and/or treatments.

The Hight Throughput Screening Core in Medicinal Chemistry Shared Resource (HTSC-MCSR) at OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center is looking for one Research specialist, who will be part of the team for the operations of HTSC-MCSR for the high throughput screening service for the investigators of the cancer center.

The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for conducting research in collaboration with Dr. Andrea Sims and other personnel in the Department of Linguistics at OSU. The scholar will also be responsible for teaching one course per academic year in an area of their expertise, participating in personal professional development activities, and mentoring graduate and/or undergraduate students as appropriate.

This postdoctoral position requires a motivated and productive individual with experience in 1D and 2D NMR-based metabolomics with applications from model systems to clinical samples. The research will focus on the preparation of metabolomics samples suitable for quantitative NMR analysis, performance of NMR experiments, data analysis, and interpretation. This includes the identification of biomarkers, the characterization of biochemical pathways, and the identification of protein targets. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in existing collaborations and establish new collaborations within OSU, work with other group members, and perform other tasks as assigned by the PI. An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Dr. Radwanski laboratory in the Bob and Corrine Frick Center for Heart Failure and Arrhythmia at The Ohio State University. Our lab is investigating the role of sodium channel-containing nanodmains in arrhythmogenesis. We use an array of techniques and models including optical mapping of ex vivo hearts, conventional (patch clamp) and fluorescence-coupled electrophysiology (patch clamp in tandem with rapid confocal calcium imaging) and scanning ion conductance microscopy-guided single-channel recordings (aka smart-patch). This position is for an applicant who will use cellular imaging and electrophysiological techniques to assess perturbations in sodium channel function within various nanodomains. Research will mainly focus on  FLASH radiotherapy, an innovative radiation modality, that has the potential to be implemented in clinical trials.   Specifically,  this will include conducting pre-clinical studies using mouse models to evaluate tumor response and acute/late normal tissue toxicity; working closely with the radiation biology and medical physics teams for experimental planning and execution; designing and implementing  methods to characterize (gross observation, histological evaluation, molecular/genomic profiling) the impact of FLASH radiotherapy in vivo.  Pre-clinical studies will provide underlying evidence for clinical implementation of FLASH radiotherapy.
