Dr. Katharine Jack, Department of Anthropology at Tulane University, is recruiting a postdoctoral research assistant to join a dynamic lab focused on the behavior and ecology of wild capuchin monkeys. Current projects include a longitudinal project examining testosterone, cortisol, and male life histories, an NSF-funded study of the interplay between capuchin male dominance, behavior, morphology, and olfactory signaling, and an NIH- funded project examining the social and environmental contributions to variation in health and aging among wild capuchin monkeys. The Tulane Center for Biomedical Informatics and Genomics is hiring a postdoc in bioinformatics. The main duties of the postdoc are to develop new algorithms, machine learning models, and software tools for mass spectrometry-based proteomics studies, especially top-down proteomics. The postdoc will collaborate with other researchers to apply the software tools to carry out proteomics studies of biological samples. The postdoc will also be involved in the implementation of research plans, development of research methods, and analysis of mass spectrometry data.  

The neutron physics group at Tulane University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position to participate in two cold neutron beam experiments: BL3, a next generation beam neutron lifetime experiment, now under construction; and parity-violating neutron spin rotation in liquid helium. Both experiments will run at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The position is based at Tulane, but will be located primarily at the experimental integration site at Indiana University (Bloomington) and will involve travel to the NCNR.

The Postodoctoral Fellow is required to manage data projects in the Tulane Center for Clinical Neurosciences. He/she will be responsible for the creation, updating, maintenance, quality control and filtering, validation, security and analyses of research projects databases; along with multiplatform system programming and provision of computerized reports as needed.  He/she will also be responsible for developing bioinformatics and data analysis protocols and pipelines, and assisting with faculty analytic projects with a variety of other study related tasks, in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory agencies guidelines.

The postdoctoral scholar will be supervised and mentored by Professor Patrick Button. The successful candidate will teach one course at the undergraduate level in the Department of Economics annually and is expected to participate actively in research, seminars and other activities at the Department of Economics and the Murphy Institute.

The Tulane University Economics Department and the Murphy Institute of Political Economy invite applications for a postdoctoral position to begin in fall 2023.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics by fall 2023.  We are seeking individuals whose research areas are in health policy or health economics.  The postdoctoral fellow would be supervised by a Tulane faculty member.  The successful candidate will teach one course at the undergraduate level annually and is expected to participate actively in research, seminars and other activities at the Economics Department and the Murphy Institute.  Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and accepted through April 21, 2023.  The appointment is for two years only.

The study will take place in the context of the Coalition for Compassionate Schools, a National Child Traumatic Stress Category II Treatment and Service Adaptation Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The mission of the Coalition is to build the capacity of schools, students, and parents to create transformative change in education through the adoption, implementation, and sustainment of trauma-informed, healing-centered practices. The research study will utilize youth participatory action research methods to explore student experiences in trauma-informed schools. The goals of the study are to engage youth voice and leadership to determine whether trauma-informed schools are meeting their needs in the ways intended, and if not, to gain insight into how approaches should be modified to achieve their desired impact.
